"Still haven't got a date, do you?"
Ron asked meanwhile they were preparing themselves for the ball. Harry was feeling nervous, his palms were sweating and his heart pounded in his chest. He was definitely going to make a fool of himself showing up alone. The boy who lived; doesn't even have a date.

"No... I do not" Harry shrugged and fixed his tie. Seeing himself in the mirror now felt strange, his hair wasn't as messy like it regularly is. His eyes wandered down to his hands, Harry thought about everything he'd done. Cedric's death. His meeting with Lord Voldemort and he suddenly felt a rush of discomfort.

"I don't know if I'm in the mood to go" Harry looked at Ron who was fixing his hair, (rather making it messier)

"Yes! You are" his friend demanded and pointed at him accusingly like Harry had murdered someone.

When they walked down the stairs, they caught Hermione looking in a mirror, Ron stood there, staring at her like she was an angel.

She wore a baby blue dress this time, covered in glitter that caught your eyes in less than a second. "Bloody hell" Ron whispered under his breath and continued to look at her until she disappeared through the portrait. "Talk to her" Harry told Ron, but it was obvious that he didn't want to be the first one to do so.

"Look at them" Ron saw Cherry and Hermione walking down to the great hall together. His face was crumbled up and his eyes reflected with not yet fallen tears.

'Damn it Malfoy' Harry thought to himself, he hadn't talked to Cherry yet like he said he would. He thought Malfoy would do something nice for once, but he messed it up and it only made Harry angrier.

He glanced across the room and saw Malfoy drinking, also watching the two girls. But this time he had bruises over his pale face, what exactly had happened? Had Cherry done that to him?

Draco caught Harry looking his way and decided to walk to him.
Harry's heart started to beat faster, and he didn't know what to do or say when Malfoy had approached. "I'm sorry," Draco said so Harry only could hear.

Harry looked around to see if Draco actually had said that to him before replying, "f-for what?" he knew already, but it must've been serious if Malfoy had said that. The word 'sorry' is more dangerous to Draco than 'Voldemort' and more rare for him to say.

"For not stopping-" he nodded towards the ginger girl that was ten meters from them. Harry didn't know what to say, his mind was all over the place, he had so much to ask about yet; he couldn't speak at all.

He looked at Malfoy, his sworn enemy. His face was ruined, it didn't look silky soft anymore because of the purple and blue bruises. "...Did she do that to you?" his eyes went back and forth over Draco's face.

''It doesn't matter. I don't even have to help you!'' Draco slapped Harry's hand that was lifting towards Draco's face. His were becoming redder and redder from anger, why would he even want to help Potter?
''See you.'' His eyebrows tightened together as he turned his heels around.

Harry was lost in words, neither less, he had Ron to worry about - who was now drinking punch in a dark corner. Ron didn't take any notice of Harry when he stood in front of him.

Ron slurped and watched Cherry and Hermione annoyingly, ''Hermione doesn't even like girls... Right? I promise you I've heard her saying she would never be together with another girl-'' He stopped talking, ''or it was Lavander - it doesn't matter! I need more punch.''

Harry didn't even notice Hermione was beside him until she made a signing sound, ''how are you?'' She asked when Harry didn't talk, he felt his skin burning and all of the blood flooding to his head, how did she have the nerve to ask that? ''Don't ask me, Ron is broken!''

''He looks oka-'' they watched how Ron was drinking all of the punch, ''you know what? It's not my problem.'' She rolled her eyes dramatically. ''You're an arse, Hermione!'' He yelled out; she stopped her feet but didn't turn around to face Harry.

The lights flickered and the floor shook slightly, but no one cared until Dumbledore screamed out for the school to evacuate.

Students walked out calmly until there were red lights shooting and bouncing around the room back and forth almost hitting Dumbledore. ''Run!'' Somebody yelled and it became chaotic in seconds.

Ron grabbed Harry's hand, but there was something wrong. Someone was missing. He tried to make Ron lose the grasp, ''Harry are you trying to get killed?'' He screamed out but it was a whisper compared to the surroundings.

''I need to find Draco!'' Harry yanked his hand away and ran across the crowd.

The students' voice's shortly enough faded out the longer he came away from them. Harry continued to walk throughout the long corridors in the school, every turn he made he felt like someone lurking closer to him. But every time he turned back to see if somebody was there - he found nothing except for the dark.
