Roman

After Nikki closes the door, to go shopping I notice two boxes on the floor near the door. " What the Hell?" Nicole name is on the boxes, so I decide to open it. I see Nicole items such as old picture and personal item. I then start to close it until I see a closed envelope.

Nicole

It says on the front of the envelope. I think twice before opening it but I just felt like I had too. I slide the letter out to see a hand written letter on card stock cream color paper.

Dear Nicole,

The past few weeks without have been miserable. It's difficult to not have someone to come home to or be with. I know as you read this you think about all our good and bad memories. I also know that I wasn't the best boyfriend, and I am an idiot for thinking that work ever came before you. But I also know, I want another chance. I believe that this break made the heart more vulnerable, which is what I need. But no matter what I love and respect you as a woman and co worker.

As I finish read the letter I hear the front door open, it's Nikki. She starts to make her way upstairs until she recognizes me.

" What is that?"

" Just a bill, that I gotta pay. What are you doing back here so fast?"

" Forget my phone. What are you doing with my boxes?"

" I was going to bring them upstairs, for you."

" Oh, thanks. But I'll do it. " She says walking towards me to get the boxes. " What time should I be back to watch the kids?"

" Actually, I will watch them today. You enjoy yourself."

" Are you sure?"

" Yea."

" Awesome." She says going up the stairs.

" Nikki, Wait." She stops. " I'm sorry for yesterday, and I love you."

" that's all I wanted to here, love you too Roman."
