You are the 9th Spider... a member of the elite assassins known as The Phantom Troupe.

You find the assassination business suites you. It's straightforward and fairly low risk, because of your special powers that your Nen has brought out in you. You have the ability to observe and manipulate your victim's dreams. It's called Incubus. Once you choose a victim, you had to make skin contact with them to add their sleep pattern into your memory. Once you've gotten that, you have access and control over their dreams. You can orchestrate their dreams down to every minute detail, or simply watch. This allows you to infiltrate their minds with your own motives and plans. This was very useful for making things go smoothly, in favor of the spiders. Plus sleep deprivation combined with disturbing dreams (which may be reoccurring) can drive a person mad, which was useful for taking down powerful adversaries. One of your favorite methods was to disguise yourself for the initial skin contact when you get their pattern. Then you'd appear in your victim's dreams- and just stand there, staring at them. Then reappear a few nights later, regardless the context of the dream. Repeat that over a few months and you'd have someone fearing sleep and feeling well tormented. Then you'd appear in front of them in real life, and they would lose their mind- you didn't even have to make threats. Throwing them off made it easy for your colleagues to finish the job. It can take time but it's worth the wait; and the feeling of ultimate control never gets old.

Observing dreams was also a good way to gain intel. The dreams of humans were strange but there was always something to be gleaned. A side effect of this power was that you did not dream when you slept, which you didn't really see as a downfall. Your nights were either spent in a peaceful slumber, or exploring your victim's mind. If you went exploring, you would need to make up that sleep later. You could remember your current victim's sleep pattern until you chose to release it, or overwrote it with a new pattern from another victim.

One rule of the spiders is that no one works alone. This has been a real challenge for you since you are hiding a big secret: your untold power that you haven't revealed to any of your peers- not even your boss. In addition to Incubus, your untold power is Tether. It allows you to control your victim's body as long as they are in contact with you or have something of your body's creation inside their body. You utilized this with a precision dart imbued with your blood. Once in their bloodstream, they will not be free of you until you chose to release them, or your mind became offline (sleeping or passed out). Tether required a lot of concentration and it really wore you out. Tether at it's strongest was still only puppetry, and you could not control your victim's mind- only body. The biggest downfall of Tether was that you would also feel your victim's emotions, so although you could force someone to take their own life, you'll feel their suffering until they are dead. Most of your fights had never even come to that. Since the spiders don't work alone, you never had to be the one to make the final blow. This power is your hidden hand, and you were preparing to use it.

Like most of the spiders, you've been involved with the Troupe for a number of years, gaining the trust of your peers and your boss- a man who is not easily fooled. And for the most part, you've been honest. But in the past few years, you've been planning a coupe. And you've decided to go for the head of the spider- your boss, Chrollo Lucifer. Take out the head and take control of the Troupe as the new boss.
