It had been several hours since John left for the studio. Katy couldn't remember what time Chapman would be waiting for him beside the apartment building. Not until she heard 5 gunshots. And she ran outside with George hot on her tail.

She witnessed John stumbling and then falling. Yoko kept screaming. She ran up to John who was faced down and bleeding out quickly.

"Oh my god John!" Katy heard George practically shout.

"George, I need you to stay back."

Katy checked his pulse. He was still alive but barely hanging on. She could barely hear his labored short breaths. "Come on John. Don't die on us."

She heard him try to say something. Then, she knelt and put her head close to his face so she could hear him. "Ye w-were r-right. I-I should n-not have g-gone." That was the last thing he said before he was out.

"John? John? Can you hear me?"

Nothing.

She put her head down to try and hear his heartbeat but she couldn't hear anything. So, she began doing the only option she could think. She began CPR.

After a few minutes, he began to cough rapidly. She didn't know how long she would be able to keep him alive but she was going to try for as long as she can.

"John? Can you hear me? Nod if you can hear me."

And so he did. Very lightly though but visible for her and George to see. When Katy turned to George, he was in shock. He was witnessing his best mate dying right in front of him. Now, he knew she was telling the truth about his death. There was no way he could deny it now. Not after seeing this.

John tried to talk again.

"John, don't talk. Alright? You need you're strength."

That's when the cop car rolled up. Chapman was taken away and the cops got John in the back of the cop car while George took Katy and Yoko and followed the cops to the hospital.

Once there, John was rushed in by the cops and was set on a gurney as doctors started looking him over. Katy and George brought Yoko over to the waiting room as they all waited anxiously. Katy had a feeling she knew what the outcome would be.

They had been waiting around for what felt like an eternity until the doctor emerged and walked up to the three. "Mr. Lennon is barely hanging on. We got him in surgery right now but there's no guarentee if he'll walk out of there alive. We're hoping he does. I will keep you updated.

George turned to Katy and asked: "So, does he die on the table?"

Katy never made eye contact as she kept looking forward and was still shocked at what the doctor had told her. "No. He was supposed to die as soon as he was brought in. He's hanging on. Which is a very good sign. Let's hope he hangs on. For our part and for Paul's. Speaking of which.........." Katy stood up and went to the nearest phone.

George followed behind. "What are ye doing?"

"Calling Paul. He needs to know. After the last phone call that he recieved from John, only hours before he's gunned down, he will know what the call was about and why John told him to to mourn him. Listen, you know, and he needs to know. Both him and Ringo need to know Geo."

George dropped his head in defeat. "Alright. Do what ye have to do."

Katy dialed Paul's number and after a few rings, she heard a tired Paul answer the phone:

"Ello?" He sounded sluggish.

"Hey Paul. Its me Katy Santiago. Listen, will you shut up and listen Paul?"
