Two days later
A lone figure stalked about within the forest that lined the tranquil home. It's deafening silence unnerving the curious intruder further. Having been sent there to carry out a task for his organisation.
With it being three in the morning a bit of quiet was understandable, however this house in particular was never quite for this long, let alone silent. The eerieness ebbing away at the boys calm disposition and leaving them on high alert.
He creeps around angrily, what the hell was his boss thinking wanting to overthrow Chan and take his territory all of a sudden.
Some powerful clans rule over a piece of land as a sign of dominance and strength while other newer clans reside within those territories in alliance or for protection. More land equals more power.
There are two ways to acquire land in the new age. One, gain the favour of the old government, the group who govern the population, they have divisions like the vampire council and human governments.
The next option, you steal it.
The boys clan chose the highly illegal option two and used him as a scape goat. So there he crouched in a damp forrest blinded by the darkness that surrounded him.
Chans clan currently ran Seoul so any rookie group looking to make a name for themselves would obviously go for him, right? Not exactly. Most clans are started as a way for like minded people to band together and escape solitude, clans are used to form a support network. That was the norm until the Hwang group killed one of theor own and started messing with forbidden spells.
Since then people have become a lot more sinister with their intentions. So far his clan had been one of three started with the intent to replace and out perform the Hwangs.
Wincing the boy rose to his feet clutching his stomach. He had received a 'punishment' for a lack of enthusiasm over this plan when it was presented that in turn led his boss to send him on the mission.
His group had been watching this house for months now, having finally come up with a way to get in two days ago.
But that's it. Once in, he's on his own. Gaze lowering to his feet the youth release a defeated sigh. If he was caught it would be eight to one.
Not expecting to leave unscathed he only hopes to get the needed information to his boss via the magical artifact he was given. Its a small circular device with small vial indents on it's surface, said vials were to be filled with blood before the end of this night.
Forcing away his thoughts the boy headed for the cellar window. He and his clan learnt that the wizard Woojin practiced potion making three days a week and left the cellar window open on Friday nights to clear out the toxins.
Laying on his stomach before the window he crawls through the rectangular space. Suppressing a yelp as the rough terrain rubs against his bruised abdomen.
Once in he cautiously lower his socked feet to the floor all the while scanning the empty room for any signs of life. Once sure that he was alone he turned to reach out the window and tug his duffel bag through before waddling over to the door having left his shoes outside.
The hinges creak to life as the door is pushed open making the boy cringe, his rising panic soon fades as he recalls being told in his briefing that Chans clan had no wearwolves or a vampire's so his little slip just then couldn't have alerted any of the members. Stepping out into the hallway he leaves the door slightly ajar to allow for quick access when he escapes.
Now what?
Pulling out his phone he reaffirms what information he needed to secure for the 100th time that night. Since his clan didn't know the extent of Chan and his members when it came to their abilities it would be too risky to face them.
