~A few minutes later~
3rd Person's POV
Nightmare and Dream were drawing, Dream looked so happy and peaceful. Nightmare pulled a flute out of his bag and he watched as Dream's eyes turned to stars. He played a soft tune as he swayed to the rhythm, Nightmare stood up and let the music take over him. Every sway or movement his body made was delicate and cautious. Dream admired Nightmare, he loved the soft tune of the flute and he had always loved how Nightmare would play it. Nightmare twirled around the room and a bright light began to shine from his crown.
He continued to play the flute as his crown turned into a dark violet cloak, the cloak flowed in time with his body. Dream's breath was taken away as he watched Nightmare sway around the room, Dream also stood up and began to sway to the music as well. Nightmare was lost in a trance and so was Dream but they didn't care, all that mattered at the time was the music.
~Time skip a few days later~
The doctors bring in instruments every day with music sheets so they could learn. They found out that music helped calm Dream down especially if it was played by his brother and today Nightmare had a surprise for Dream. "Close your eyes Dream!" Nightmare called out to Dream in a playful manner and Dream happily closed his eyes.
A soft tune began to fill the room, Nightmare was playing the harp. Dream immediately opened his eyes and watched in amazement how Nightmare's fingers could so delicately pull the strings. The harp truly was a beautiful instrument and through Dream's eyes Nightmare made it more beautiful. The music was so calming and Dream lightly hummed to the tune. Nightmare smiled at Dream's humming and continued to play.
Nightmare closed his eyes and played the harp, his dark cloak began to shine a light lavender as silver moons started to decorate the ends of the cloak. Both were too busy to notice the silver moons. Nightmare and Dream like to paint pictures in their head with the music, they pictured beautiful rainforests and waterfalls where everything was peaceful and calm and where everything was okay, no asylum, no black apples, no potions, just them and the soft rustling of the trees. Oh how they both wished they could feel and be there together one day. It's like they could already feel the wind and the soft grass.
Dream began to lay down and you could easily tell he was falling asleep but Nightmare still continued to play. Nightmare opened his eyes to see Dream softly snoring and asleep. Nightmare loved seeing Dream look so peaceful. He stopped playing the Harp and he made his way over to Dream. He sat beside him and softly fell backwards, he was now on his side and looking at Dream face to face but well, Dream was still asleep of course.
Nightmare gently caressed Dream's cheekbone and planted a soft kiss on his forehead. "I love you Dreamy", he softly whispered as he wrapped his arms around Dream.
"I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close."
