Do you know someone who loves to compliment you?

Do you have someone in mind?

Okay, I am sure you are smiling when you remember that person. I am quite sure s/he loves you, makes your day and looks at you with those sparkling eyes.

How about another person you know, who compliments you...

but adds BUT in every compliment s/he tells you?

Do you have someone in mind? or some people maybe?

How many times did they do this to you? One? Two? Few?

Do you still remember their smile after telling you how good you look in your new hair cut or how fit you look on your jeans?

That evil, mischievous smile that slowly crept up just before they say the word BUT?

The way their eyes crinkle in the sides before they open their mouths?

If you still remember those, I'm sorry. I know it's hard to sleep on those things. They make you feel insecure about yourself.

But it's not about you. It's about them. You are not supposed to be insecure about those trashy phrases after every BUTs.

These people are just plain toxic. Plain insecure about their own selves.

Those people, cut them out of your life.

You don't need people around you who just makes you feel less you. You don't need bad mouths that only says something good when they make other people feel bad inside.

You don't need them. Really.

You don't need their approval to be valid. Nor you need not their words to make you feel awesome.

You need yourself. You need to look in the mirror and be able to see the flaws in you and see the beauty too. And the beauty in your flaws. The beauty in yourself.

Your jeans fit on the butt BUT your belly layered when you sit. So WHAT?!

You are beautiful even so.

Remember that PRETTY and BEAUTIFUL are two different words.

You look pretty, that's on the outside.

Notice the word look? That is because it is the physical standards that you meet. It satisfies the eyes, it is pleasing.

And there is nothing wrong with that.

But when someone says you are beautiful.

It says something - everything. A substance that does not only tell about how it just stops in the physical attributes. It goes beyond that. It goes beyond the physiological aspects that encompasses you.

It is the overall aura you emanate. How you feel good about looking good. How you feel good about being good. How you make your self-love emanate and dissipate as a perfume-like fragrance that easily attracts people.

So the next time someone says you look good BUT... ignore them babe. Don't let it get in your head and struck a knife in your heart.

Strutt your way around and feel good about yourself. You just need one good look in the mirror, a sweet smile and a wink to yourself and you'll be good for the rest of the day.

Their dreaded, evil smiles won't kill you today.

always remember to feel good about yourself. don't let anyone dictate how you should feel about yourself. smile and everything else will be good.
