it's a few days later, at the record store.

you walk in, the door chiming as you pass through, and head straight for the records in the back. you just got your paycheck, you're eager to purchase a new vinyl.

In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

you take the vinyl to the front counter, excited. you place it down without looking at the cashier, too busy looking at all the other albums around. you love it here, you have since you were young.

"neutral milk hotel," a familiar voice sounds, your body tenses.

you look up and see him. your breathe stalls in your throat. you cough, trying to save yourself.

"y-yeah, they're good."

you frown mentally, you're such an idiot.

"y'know, i've never actually listened to them..."

this is your chance.

"maybe i could show them to you sometime? no one should be devoid of incredible music."

he smiles, blushing, nodding.

"i'd quite like that."

you let out a breath you didn't know you were holding.
