I slide into the dress. It feels cool on my skin. I look at myself in the mirror. Yes. It looks good. I like it. I can wear that. I look pretty. I smile. Who says I can't look pretty? I should wear that kind of clothes more often. I get into my high heels. Yep, I own a pair or two.

"Okay Scott, I am out! See you later!" I call out to Scott who's watching TV. "Have fun Megs!" he replies. As I rush out of the door, I run into – Chris. "Easy, girl, you are..." he stops as he sees it is me. He looks at me from head to toe. "Wow....that is... you look great, Megs."

"Thanks" is all I say to him. I try not to be impressed. It's hard, cos he looks really good tonight. He's growing out a beard. I have a thing for beards. But nope, not tonight. "Where are you headed to?" he asks while I make my way downstairs. "Going on a date, sweetheart!" I lie. There you have it. I can play games as well. I look up and see him staring down at me. Serves you right.

I was so right about that office party. It IS boring. And I am not really in the mood to party anyways. I thought it would be easier to just forget Chris, but I am still mad. Me and a few others decide to move on to a club. "Are you sure you don't wanna ride with us Megs?" Josh asks. "No, really, I am not planning on staying long. Had a rough week."

We meet at Bexter, and I know that Chris and Scott are there. I told my co workers to come here, for that reason. To show Chris what he is not going to have. Or to convince him that he should indeed keep trying? I don't know.

I find them rather quick. Our corner. Scott waves at me and I wave back with a smile. Chris is standing there, a beer in his hand. Wait, no girls around? That surprises me. He does not wave. He does not smile. He just looks at me. I grab Josh and drag him along. "Hey guys! You been here for long?" I ask Scott. I am not even looking at Chris. I am trying to ignore him. Again – it's hard to do so. He looks so damn fine. I talk to Scott and Josh for a while, as Chris touches my arm. "You want a drink Megs?" he asks. His speech is blurred. He has been drinking. Here it is again. The puppy look. Please. As if I'd fall for that. "Thanks, no, not drinking tonight. Driving." I turn my back on him and keep talking to Josh. It is incredible, what a dress can do to you. I feel confident and sexy in it. And I have no problem giving Chris the cold shoulder. I am even enjoying it. He leans in to Scott and says something into his ear, causing Scott to look at me. I just raise my eyebrows. Then Chris disappears.

I try not to care. I see him at the bar a few moments later, talking and downing shots with abunch of people. I recognize a few friends of him. And I can see two girls, having their eyes on him. Of course. It won't take them long to get over and go full fangirl mode. Chris will LOVE that. And he will take one of them home. Fuck. I am not in the mood for that. This guy drives me crazy. Looks like my plan backfired. Maybe I am not one to play games, I am just not good at it.

"Guys – I am leaving" I tell Scott and Josh. "What? Are you kidding me?" I shake my head. "Not feeling too well. You guys have fun." Scott leans in to talk to me. "Is this about Chris?" he asks. "What? No? Why would that be about Chris?"

"He told me you said you were going on a date – and I know you were at an office party. Now you ignore him. What is wrong?"

"What' wrong? I tell you what's wrong. I am pretty sure he told you about what happened, I know you two. He has the nerve to ask me out for a date but he never calls, and then I find you guys in the kitchen, laughing about his latest one night stand? I am not stupid. I am done with my stupid teenage girl crush on your brother, Scott."

He looks at me confused. "What one night stand? We didn't talk about a one night stand. We talked about our sister. Look, you need to chill out, really. Just stay, let's have some fun. Stop ignoring him."
