This chapter moves the relationship forward a little bit. Hisoka is just concerned at one point and feels noting romantic.

"So, how old are you again, Aypy-Chan?" Mrs Zoldyck asked me over our humongous plates of food. I swallowed a mouthful of chicken before responding. "I'm twenty, Zoldyck-san," I replied. "Now, there's no need for that. You are my son's girlfriend, after all. Just call me Kikyo-san," "I'm very sorry, but Illumi is not my boyfriend." Mrs Zoldyck frowned then gave me a tragic smile. "That's a shame. Then why are you here?" I looked at Hisoka, then at Illumi who sat next to Milluki. I eyed Hisoka and Illumi as if to say: Is it my place to say why? Illumi nodded, and Hisoka gave me a creepy smile that I took as a "yes." "Well, Illumi hired Hisoka and me to work as agents in his assassin company," I swallowed nervously, shifted my fork in my hands. "Tonight is technically our first time were on the clock, only Illumi hasn't told us what our mission is yet." All eyes looked at me, and I wondered why. Then I realised I had put my hoodie back on and had let my wolf ears be present. The awkward silence was broken by a rather rude comment from Milluki. "You and Hisoka don't seem like assassins to me. He's too flashy and you seem too small and timid to be an assassin. Besides, if you were an assassin, I could feel you're bloodlust. I can't feel any from you!" Now, I normally don't unleash my bloodlust, but this was an exception. "Grab me by my arms, and don't let your bloodlust take over you." I hissed to Hisoka and Illumi. They obliged. "You wanna feel my bloodlust, Milluki?" I giggled, shuddering. "Well, HERE IT IS!" I screamed. I let my bloodlust tear through me, sending blood red waves and blades of aura shoot through the dining room. I felt Hisoka's fingernails dig into my bicep, drawing blood from underneath the heavy fabric. I stopped face slick with sweat. "There Milluki. Satisfied?" I panted to the figure crawling up from under the table.
Milluki gave a terrified nod and sat back down. Kikyo smiled. "It's been so long since I've felt that much bloodlust from a woman. It's beautiful to feel." I weakly smiled at the remaining food on my plate: Chicken, Pork Chops, steamed broccoli, cake. "Thank you Kikyo-san. I prefer to conceal it, though. It's easier to kill when no one can sense it leaching from an adorable wolf girl!" I said, smiling. For the next two hours, Kikyo-san and I sat in a drawing room, drinking tea and discussing the pros and cons of being a female assassin. At midnight, I decided I should get my sleeping schedule back on track. "Thank you for the time, Kikyo-san. I appreciate it." I said, bowing. "Come back any time~" The assassin sang from the tea room. I skipped around the corner and came face-to-face with Illumi. "Hey, Zoldyck-san," I said. "You...can call me Illumi-san if you like. Hisoka was right. We are...no, no we're not... but we are good allies. I respect you, as you do seem to be an experienced killer. You would be useful to have respect from." Illumi replied. "Thank you?" After we walked for a few more minutes, we came to a room with a humongous spruce door. "This is your room, you are sharing it with Hisoka. I'd suggest you find something to do. He is taking a shower." Illumi told me. Then he walked away, going to either a back door or his bedroom. I decided to enter the room, then leave through the window. If I used my jumping abilities, I could get to the base of Kukuroo quickly, and kill some guys trying to break in.
When I entered the room, I screamed. "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON IN HERE?" I covered my eyes as I stumbled to the window. "What's wrong, Aypy-Chan? Never seen a near-naked man before?" Hisoka laughed. 'Of course, I have. I'm not a virgin! But I've never seen my best MALE friend in nothing but a TOWEL!" I spat back while I squatted in the window sill. "Why do you not say, 'Don't come in' when You're practically stripped?" "Well, I don't really care if you see me, Aypy-Chan~" Hisoka mused. "Well, I care. When I come back, you better have your pyjamas on." I yelled as I leapt out the window. My face burned as I jumped from tree to tree, seeing how close that call was. He as still dripping wet. If had arrived any earlier, I would've seen everything. I calmed down the more I got towards the Testing Gate, I noticed that Mike was nowhere in sight. That was going to be n issue. "That old dude was such a weak fool. And I can't believe he threatened us with a WOLF GIRL being a fucking assassin!" Said a man. "I know! Wolf girls are always frail and naive. Can't believe the Extermination Team hasn't wiped out the WolfPeople." Said his accomplice. IOkay, now I was pissed and shit was about to go down. I shed my hoodie, deciding to not do my cutie-killer routine. "Hello, boys," I said in my most sultry, seductive killer voice. "Dude. Check out that rack. She's hot for a wolf-chick!" The second man whispered to the first. "What the fuck? You staring at my boobs?" I fake-asked. I shook my head in disapproval. "Some people need to be taught manners," I said as my fingernails shot out. I ran and jumped, kicking the second perv to the ground. I cuffed his neck, digging my fingernails into the hard-packed earth. I then walked my second hand up to his chest. I shoved my hand into his chest and pulled out his stomach. Blood seeped out of the gash where I slipped my fingers through. The ragged flesh smelled of cigarette smoke, the ground covered in the red spray, a few stray drops landed on his face and my cleavage. I licked a stray drop of blood and spat out the smell of tobacco and nicotine. "You see this?" I asked in a sweet voice. "This is your stomach. It seems like you don't seem like to eat. It's very empty." I put the stomach back into the putrifying cavity and carved a pentagram into his cheek.
"Now, what to do with you?~" I asked the first guy. I walked forward and sliced part of his head off. I held his right eye, top of his ear, skull skin and hair in a chunk in my hand. When I got tired of messing with the corpses, I went to retrieve my hoodie. I decided to walk back. When I started walking, I had an episode. This happens because of my emotional training. I was abandoned on the side of a road when I was eleven, and the trauma made me lose some of my emotional training. I got a sudden rush of sadness, not emptiness, but pain. I cried I sobbed, I shrieked. There's only one person who can fix this. "H...hisoka!" I cried out. I knew it was no use. He couldn't hear me. I curled up on the ground and tried to stop crying. But I just couldn't. I can't stop without him here to help me. "AYPY!? WHERE ARE YOU?" I heard Hisoka com jumping down the hill. "H...HISOKA!" I cried. Rain had begun to fall. It made his hair fall around his shoulders, made his white shirt stick to his toned chest. He stopped running and displayed an emotion I didn't know he had in him. Fear; and sadness. "Aypy, what's wrong?" He asked. He grabbed me and pulled him into his chest. All I could do in answer was choke out a few more tears. "It's gonna be okay," He picked me up and started to run. "You're my best and only friend. I'll make sure you'll stay safe." I started to relax in his grip. I made myself smaller, wishing to disappear in his arms. I felt something warm drip onto my hands, but I assumed it was sweat from Hisoka running at full speed.
When we got to the manor. Hisoka gently placed me on the large bed and left the room. I changed into the fluffy hooded onesie that I'd packed with me. Hisoka returned with a hot water bottle and put it on my head. "It's going to be okay, Aypy. You just get some sleep." He told me in an unnaturally kind voice. "I'll go to sleep on the floor," Hisoka told me as he shifted to get off the bed. I couldn't talk; my thought was still so raw from the tears. I astonished even myself when I grabbed a fistful of his shirt and shook my head. "Do you want me to stay with you?" Hisoka asked, confused. I nodded. Hisoka grabbed me and hugged me close to his chest. I then knew that this clown had emotions, and he let me take a part in them. He stroked my hair and told me that everything was going to be fine, that he didn't know what was wrong, but he would try and fix it.
I fell asleep comforted by the proximity of my crush, my best friend, and the only person that ever actually cared about me.
