Chapter 9

Beep! Beep! Beep!

What the heck?! He got me an alarm clock?!

My ears twitch and I jerk my head up to see above my tail, since I'm still in fox form. I usually sleep in an animal form since it's the most comfortable. I slowly get up, shifting into semi-fox form instead.

"(Y/a)? Are you awake?" Nezu calls from outside the door.

"Of course I'm awake! That damn piece of metal made sure of it!"

"Ah, okay then. I apologize if it was disturbing. Would you like some tea?"

Is that all he ever does?

"Sure, why not," I mumble as I climb off the bed. Guess I have to get ready for school now.

...

What have I done.

I sigh and get up, finding my uniform and throwing it on before pulling a brush through my hair. When I figure people wouldn't run away when they saw me, I decide it's good enough.

Though that would have been interesting.

I slip my books into my school bag and sling the bag over one shoulder.

Wait! Dadzawa's coming back today!

I would be lying to myself if I said I wasn't excited, though I don't know why my attitude towards him changed so quickly. Maybe it's because he seems more relaxed around me than before.

I push open the bedroom door and walk downstairs, seeing Nezu in the kitchen, making tea.

I check the time on the clock and see that I still have 20 minutes before I have to leave. Sighing, I set my bag down and sit on the couch, picking up the remote.

Nezu watches me carefully as I flick through channels. News news news. All Might All Might All Might. Villain Villain Villain. SpongeBob?

I pause. Sure, why not and put the remote back on the table, watching SpongeBob like a true villain.

Nezu comes soon after the episode starts and sets my tea down on the table, looking at me weirdly.

"What." I turn to him.

"Oh, nothing. I'm just curious as to why you chose to watch this of all the shows that were on."

I blink. "Are you questioning me?"

He sighs before ignoring the question. "We have to leave soon. I suggest you decide whether you're coming with me or going on your own."

"Own!" I say immediately before grabbing my bag and standing up. And then I realise how suspiscious that might have seemed but oh well.

"Alright then. Goodbye, Mitsu!"

"See ya," I shift into a semi-cat and walk out the front door.

Nezu's house is furhter away from school than Aizawa's, so the walk is a bit longer. I turn left from Nezu's gate and start walking.

"(Y/a)?"

I frown and turn towards where the voice is coming from.

"Midoriya?" I step back as the green-haired boy walks up to me.

"I was wondering if I could walk with you... seeing as we're going the same way anyway..."

I shrug and start walking again. "Sounds reasonable to me."

Midoriya quickly matches pace with me as we walk together. "I didn't know you lived here, Mitsu."

"I don't." I keep my eyes on the floor with a bored expression.
