Alex looked at her hair in the mirror as she brushed it five minutes before she had to leave for the football game. She knew some people there but she really wasn't all that social. She's in 9th grade, her first year of high school. Middle school was hard and she had to move out of her house for multiple reasons, no she wasn't abused just things didn't feel right to her. She waved that memory from her head and ran downstairs to remind her mom to take her.
When she got there she was walking around with her friend Hannah. Hannah and her were bored and honestly she didn't feel like she wanted to hang with her anymore. She walked alone, along the wall right beside the football field until she seen one of her newer friends, Layla.
Alex had thought Layla was a bitch because when there schools went on a field trip last year, she was stuck up her boyfriends ass, and didn't even talk to anyone.
Now that she knows Layla she thinks she's nice but she's not too sure yet.
They sit together on the wall talking about random things, how the other team from the South side of town is going to lose, how people sometimes suck, and this kid standing in front of them was homophobic as hell. A kid was sitting beside Layla and his name was Nathan. Alex noticed them becoming friends and she joined in, telling Layla how she and Nathan have known each other for a while, having gone to the same middle school for three whole years, they were from Gator middle school, home of the, "prenasalis," which was like their team or something, Layla was really confused but she didn't really care.
Later that night, Alex feels the urge to text Layla and let her know that she was really cool and they should talk more. Layla thought Alex was pretty cool and said she totally agreed.
