No, that didn't last, they dated that summer and into their 10th grade year.
For Layla, that summer was hard, she rarely got to see Alex. Alex was never allowed to hang out. The times that they did were adventurous. They would meet half way from like a two mile walk and walk back to Layla's house. Sometimes, hanging out in a church playground, oddly ironic huh? They would just chill and talk and watch shows. With Layla, her parents didn't know until close to the ending of that summer.
Layla didn't expect it all. She was happy, so happy, but she hated not being able to hang out. She hated not having her girl there with her all the time. Her parents only half supportive of the whole relationship made her so angry. Which made her feel so confused about how her parents felt, her stepdad always said she's just, "confused," but she knows she's not.
But, Layla started to feel like she was in more of a strong ass friendship and not like the romance she had felt at the beginning of summer. She didn't want to lose Alex, not one bit, but what else, how else would Alex react, Layla knowing she would do the exact same.
Sadly, after about a month Layla went back to talking to Noah. At first, solely as friends, close friends, Layla didn't even take the time to figure herself out before jumping right back into something.
