Yes, it worked

The small silver hoop flies across the rooms before finally colliding with the dull metal lockers on the other side of the room, As soon the metallic sound starts to echo through the room I don't waste any time just standing around and I instantly grab both of their hands and start to run across the room as fast as I can, hoping that the sound was enough to distract the mutants. As I race past I notice that all of the creatures are crowded in the corner around the lockers, all staring intently as if they were trying figure out what could create the sound, I grin to myself

Have fun with that one, it might be a little difficult when you have barely enough brains to function

Remind me to give myself a pat of the back later for coming up with that one, since it was a pretty genius idea if I do say so myself (oh come on I think I deserve to be a bit egotistical). I slam the doors closed behind us. Even though it took less than a minute to cross the hallway it still felt like an eternity with imaginary weight of fear slowing me down, oh and plus the actual weight of dumb and dumber since I basically dragged them here because they were too busy being stunned goldfish to do the ever so difficult task of moving their feet, it's like they're losing brain cells by the second, I rest my back against the cold wall trying to catch my breath (yes I do know that I only ran for less a minute but I never said I was athletic)

"That was awesome" Luke beams at me, much to the displeasure of Ash who still seems pretty angry about before

"What? How was that awesome? I just lost my favourite ring" He frowns, looking intently at his newly empty finger, I just roll my eyes

"That wasn't even your favourite" I say proudly knowing for a fact that his favourite is a golden one which has his name inscribed on the inside.

"And how do you know that?" he raises an eyebrow accusingly, wait how do I know that? I normally don't even know the obvious things; Does this mean I'm becoming more observant? Awesome.

"Because I'm observant" I retort with a completely straight face and they both look like they're on the brink of seizure trying to hold in their laughter.

"No, you're not" They say in unison, you know I'm not really a big fan of the 'pick on Emma' fan club, is it really that unbelievable that I might notice something that isn't obvious?

Yes it is

Wow even I disagree with myself that must be like a new level of being wrong, not like I'd ever admit that though, where would be the fun in that?

"Maybe I'm just awesome" I mean not to toot my own horn but I am pretty awesome, although I think I'm the only one that holds that opinion judging by the skeptical glances Ash and Luke keep sending each other, what's even creepier is that they randomly break eye contact and start grinning at me.

"You just keep believing that" They say in unison...again, have they been practicing this or something? It's getting kind of creepy, it's like they're having a conversation...through eye contact, and people say that girls are weird.

Just as I'm about to respond, I realize that we could spend all day arguing but it would do nothing except waste time and energy, so I decide that for once I'm going to be the bigger person and shut my mouth, I know it shocked me as much as you, dare I say that I might be growing up. But now with the room completely silent I start to subconsciously take in the surroundings and for the first time I realize that there's not really much to look at in the school, I mean all the walls are the same dull colour and all the floors are covered in the same dirty tiles, the only difference between before and now is that the air just seems to be more eerie, even though it all looks the same it just feels so empty without the constant laughter and happy smiles filling the air, and despite the light flooding in through the open windows the room still feels dark and gloomy, I know it sounds pretty crazy and most of you are thinking
