Within a day, princess Madhavi's life was turned upside down. Till a day before, she was the most loved and adored princess of the great Saurashtra. But today, she was wandering helplessly on the streets of Saurashtra. She decided to leave Rajkot, the capital city of Saurashtra, till her situation comes back to normal as she didn't want to hear the news of her parents' suffering for her sake. She moved to Dwarka, a city close to Rajkot.
The Security persons brought prince Ravikirana and the maids to palace in their unconscious state. Everyone in the palace were shocked to see the prince's plight and more concern arouse as the princess was not seen with him. The King and queen were privately informed about the princess being missing. Queen Kathyayini started questioning the security persons with great worry, "How could you people return to the palace without the princess? Did you search everywhere"?
"We apologize for the unfortunate news respected Queen. We did quite a detailed search in and around the hill. But there was no sign of princess.
King Dharmasena asked the security fellows to explain him whatever had happened in detail. The head of the security said, "Your Majesty, the princess started to trek the hill in the morning along with prince Ravikirana and her maids. We were asked to wait at the bottom of the hill. No body entered the hill premises after they left nor did we see anybody coming from the hill. We didn't notice any suspicious activity or persons close by. It was in the evening when we started the search since they did not return. After climbing few steps, we saw the prince and maids lying down unconsciously. We then searched the entire hill range several times looking for the princess. We couldn't find any trace of her. We thought to inform you first and so returned".
"We will have to wait for prince Ravikirana to get conscious to know the whereabouts of the princess. In the mean time, begin the entire city search and places closer to the hill but do not reveal to any body that the princess is missing yet. This is my order", said king Dharmasena.
The servants left the king's room. The king consoled the queen and promised her to find their daughter at the earliest. In the mean time, queen Devayani entered the king's room. She asked the king, "Dear Dharma, did you get to know anything about Madhavi"?
"Nothing much known yet sister. I think we will get to know once Ravi gets consciousness", said the king.
"Could it be possible that somebody has drugged Ravi and other maids and kidnapped our daughter"? added queen Kathyayini.
"It is too early to say anything. I would suggest not to assume anything till we get some information", said the king.
"I agree", said the queen and went into deep thought. Queen Devayani noticed that queen Kathyayini was disturbed and so, consoled her for a while and left the king's room.
It was early morning the next day. Queen Devayani was sitting beside the bed of prince Ravikirana, waiting for him to get conscious. She couldn't sleep the entire night. Slowly Ravikirana opened the eyes. Queen Devayani immediately summoned few servants to inform the king. The Prince was shocked to see his mother. He immediately turned and looked around to find himself in the palace.
Queen Devayani came close to her son and inquired about his health. In the mean time, King Dharmasena and queen Kathyayini also came to the room. "How did I come here"? asked prince Ravikirana in a worried tone.
"You were brought to the palace in the late evening yesterday in an unconscious state. Do you remember what happened to you and the maids"? asked queen Devayani.
"The last I remember was me and the maids were sitting under a tree waiting for princess to return. By the way, where is princess Madhavi"? asked the prince.
"Our daughter Madhavi, the princess of Saurashtra, has been missing from yesterday dear prince", said queen Kathyayini and burst out crying.
Prince Ravikirana was shocked hearing this. King Dharmasena consoled his queen and asked Ravikirana to explain in detail.
Prince Ravikirana narrated how he got hurt and stayed back from trekking the hill and how Madhavi convinced other maids to stay with him and trekked alone. He said that he and the maids never knew how they fell asleep.
"Everything seems very mysterious". However, lets wait for the security persons to return and hear what they found. Please rest for a while. We will talk later", said the king Dharmasena.
"I'm sorry for not being cautious enough to safeguard the princess uncle Dharma. I shall take the complete responsibility to find the princess and bring her back to the palace".
"I understand your feelings dear prince. But it is also important that you are completely recovered. We have ensured that the entire Saurashtra province is searched for our missing daughter", said queen Kathyayini.
Everybody left the prince's room. Prince Ravikirana was deeply worried. "I thought to do something but it turned out to be a disaster. Dear Madhu, I just wanted to win your hand. I never wanted to hurt you. I need to meet holy mother as soon as possible to know the truth. I should find out if she is behind all this menace", said prince Ravikirana to himself.
