"You excited for your first match?" Yunhyeong asked, voice hushed but it still sounded loud amongst only the soft breeze in the air, as him and Chanwoo lay under the shade of a large tree on the grass, out on the fields. Chanwoo was half-lying over Yunhyeong, so he knew the guy could feel his shrug. "You're not?"
"It's hard to feel like I'm not gonna mess up when I'm so used to it, so."
Chanwoo could really sense the shift of Yunhyeong's happy aura, meaning the guy was probably frowning. "Hey, hey, we gotta get some courage in you, don't we?"
"Yeah and how are 'we' gonna do that?" Chanwoo said sarkily as he rolled his eyes. Yunhyeong poked the younger's cheek.
"Don't get an attitude with me! I don't know if we can do it before your game today but, let me just remind you. You got into Team A. You love football with your whole life. The team does nothing but praise you now. Tell yourself, all of that added up means something, right?"
"The team doesn't praise me that much. It's just Donghyuk and you, and you don't know jack about football," Chanwoo mumbled though he curled into Yunhyeong a little, burying his face into the elder's chest. Yunhyeong grinned down at him, stroking his back.
"You're so cute."
"Literally no-one else would ever say that."
"'Cause only I get to see you like this, right?"
For a moment, it seemed like Chanwoo wasn't going to fight back at that and Chanwoo knew Yunhyeong was going to smugly take that as a yes - that was, until Chanwoo struck him in the side and Yunhyeong yowled out in surprise more than pain. "HEY!"
"You suck," Chanwoo seethed, trying to sound menacing as he raised his head and narrowed his eyes at Yunhyeong. He deflated a little when all Yunhyeong did was laugh, his eyes crinkling but maybe the fact that he looked so pretty did make Chanwoo feel a bit better. Especially when Yunhyeong pulled him forward by his tie and kissed his nose.
"You're gonna do so well, Chan."
Chanwoo looked at him, face unreadable mostly because he didn't know what to feel. "What do you see in me?"
"I see the sweetest, strongest, funniest boy," Yunhyeong argued defensively, nuzzling Chanwoo's face. Chanwoo winced, because sometimes Yunhyeong's PDA was a bit burdensome but it did get his heart fluttering. "And you were so confident when you asked me to be your valentine."
"Ah, that was nothing..."
"It was way more than nothing. Keep that confidence everywhere, it's the best thing you could do," Yunhyeong said, voice sweet and serious as he clasped onto Chanwoo's hands. Chanwoo intertwined their fingers, getting that 'in love' feeling once again. It was still scary. "Now let's go before a Year Seven comes along and screams that we're disgusting."
"Even I would call us disgusting."
"Which makes it all the more fun," Yunhyeong explained brightly, tugging Chanwoo closer again just as Chanwoo was about to get off him, "to be disgusting with you!"
Chanwoo rolled his eyes, hiding his smile in Yunhyeong's shirt. "You're dumb."
"CHANWOO!" Jiwon yelled six hours later, jumping out of the kitchen with a crazed look, frying pan in his left hand. "DID YOU SEE A HARVEST SPIDER ANYWHERE?!"
"A...what?"
"Bloody...ugly...demons," Jiwon grumbled under his breath, swinging around wildly as Chanwoo hurried over to find out what was wrong only to see this massive man-child being a clown. "CHAN, IT WAS SO BIG! It could've eaten me whole..."
