Griff and I entered the Mess Hall, sitting down next to Lou, Xander, Ravi, and Emma just as they sent Murphy glares.
"I'm doing my best," he muttered. "So stop giving me carp!"
"If we had carp we'd be eating it!" Emma huffed.
"What's going on?" Griff asked.
Xander rolled his eyes. "Murphy can't make food."
"Fine," Murphy declared, turning back around. "You hotshots think you could do better than me? Then you can make dinner for the campers tonight."
"I think we can," Ravi challenged. "And we will."
Lou smirked. "Finally we'll have a decent meal around here."
"We'll see," Murphy said.
"Griff, are you and Ash in?" Xander asked.
Griff nodded, but I shook my head. "It's a good idea, but there's no way I'm setting foot into that kitchen."
Griff laughed. "Aw, too scared?"
I gave him a menacing glare in return. "No. I'm just...not in the mood."
"Or are you scared I can make better food than you?" He remarked, grinning now.
"What?! No!" I exclaimed. "I could totally do better than you!"
"Oh really?" Griff chuckled. "I'd like to see you try."
"Fine, I will then," I snapped.

"We finally get to make a good dinner. Can I get an E-I-E-I-Oh yeah!" Lou cheered.
Ravi did finger guns at Lou. "And a rousing huzzah!"
"When you have an E-I-E-I-Oh yeah, you really don't need a huzzah," she disclosed.
"It doesn't matter," I groaned.
"But four cooks in the kitchen might be like...like..." Emma trailed off. "What's the phrase when there are too many cooks in the kitchen?"
"Too many cooks in the kitchen?" Griff suggested.
"No..."
"Well," Ravi began. "I think the Grizzlies should be in charge."
Emma giggled. "The only thing you've ever been in charge of is the reptile club."
"And that's because you were the only member," I added.
"That is not true," Ravi said, offended.
"Mrs. Kipling doesn't count!"
Ravi sighed. "Well, it just so happens, in middle school, I cooked for myself everyday."
"That's because you kept getting your lunch money stolen," Emma grumbled.
