it was just a normal day for kim namjoon. he simply spent his whole day at school, then payed a visit at the library.

and now, he was taking a seat by the window in his favorite coffee shop. people knew him in here, and always knew what to get him once he set foot inside the warm and cozy shop.

he was thankful that the people who worked here never really talked to him, only smiled at him. the tall and skinny boy was a rather quiet one, not a huge fan of any kind of interaction.

unlike jeon jeongguk.

was jeongguk your usual, cliché bad boy? no. jeongguk absolutely hated smoking, drinking, doing drugs. anything that was illegal, basically. he was just pretty loved around the area. he was really a sweetheart and such a sociable boy, it wasn't hard to like him and want to be friends with him.

his good looks helped too.

namjoon honestly admired jeongguk  ——  though being older than him. he could never be able to talk to so many people in one day; an anxiety attack was surely coming his way if he did so.

his looks were nothing compared to his personality. namjoon was tattooed heavily, having two full sleeves, on his neck and on his chest. to everyone, namjoon was intimidating. which was kind of funny, since he was the softest person ever.

namjoon rubbed his temples as he pulled out his small, distressed notebook and a black pen from his backpack. he smiled as the waiter brought over his drink, mumbling a soft 'thank you'. it being barely audible. but the waiter was used to it by now. he knew that namjoon wasn't going to speak louder anytime soon.

namjoon played with his pen as he brainstormed the next lyrics for one of his songs. he already had the hook, bridge and pre-chorus ready. he just needed the chorus.

was the boy ever going to publish these songs and poems he wrote? no, never. but that was his only way of pouring out his soul and feelings. of expressing almost every single thing he burried deep in his heart.

namjoon would love to work as a writer. it was his dream and his passion. it was basically who he was. he expressed himself with writing, whether that was lyrics or poems. sometimes, even small stories too.

namjoon snapped out of his trance and looked up from his notebook, once he heard the small bell of the coffee shop ring. signaling that someone just walked in.

and the small group of people made their presence more known with their loud laughs.

one certain boy with a beautiful bunny-like smile caught namjoon's attention, though, which made him frown. jeon jeongguk? what was he doing here? he never in a million years would have imagined the younger coming here. he thought he would go to more crowded places, where he could show everyone his charms. talk with everyone, exactly how he did when he was at school.

ah, namjoon wishes he could be like him. he wasn't jealous of his charms or how people swooned over him. he was jealous of how easily he could make conversations. how easily he could make friends. he hoped that one day, he could talk to people without stuttering or blushing. he really hoped that one day, he will have more than two friends; taehyung and hoseok. he, of course, appreciated them and cherished them deeply. but he felt as if he burdened them since he always hung around them.

jeongguk, seokjin, yoongi and jimin gave their orders, and sat themselves down on the table next to namjoon. oh damn. that was going to be so bad.

or at least so namjoon thought. not for any other reason though, only because of the boy's social anxiety. oh, how he hoped he didn't have to go through it. life would be so much easier and so much less miserable than what it is now. at this point, he was starting to panic, badly. though he hid it as well as he could by pulling his scarf up and covering his face, all the way up to his cheeks. his trembling hands couldn't be stopped, sadly. and that was the only problem now.

jeongguk noticed the boy who was seated next to them. he looked all too familiar. he studied the tall and skinny figure that was next to him, a soft smile spreading on his lips. "hey! you are namjoon, right? i'm jeonggu- are you okay, hyung?" jeongguk beamed, his happy expression turning to one of worry once he saw how bad namjoon's hands trembled. was he that cold? but it can't be — he was wearing a jacket, and inside the shop it was really warm.

some of his classmates were afraid of namjoon, because of his tattoos. and the younger boy couldn't understand why. every time he interacted with this hyung, he only was quiet and nice to him.

jeongguk has heard from some people that namjoon was a really quiet and intimidating person. he barely talked to anyone, unless you were hoseok and taehyung. namjoon was two years older than him. and jeongguk knew that namjoon was really smart and good at his classes. he really was a role model to jeongguk. the boy hoped that, one day, he could do as well as this hyung does with classes.

namjoon chewed on his bottom lip nervously. what was he going to answer him? how was he going to answer him? oh god, this was too much for him. "i-i'm fine.." he mumbled under his breath. only for jeongguk to hear. he had already embarrassed himself enough in front of the other's friends. he really felt like a lost puppy at this point.

"but.. you are trembling.." jeongguk pointed out with furrowed eyebrows. to him, he didn't seem fine. the boy's big, doe eyes awaited for the older to give him a response. though he could see that, for some reason, namjoon was struggling to speak. he really hoped he didn't scare him.

namjoon took a deep breath, closing his eyes for a moment. trying to calm down his heart that was currently hammering in his chest. "it's um.. it's nothing.. i-it's something that happens a lot." he mumbled once again. that was honestly, the most normal conversation he had in ages.

jeongguk nodded hesitantly. he didn't want to make the older hate him, so he didn't push him to tel him. but, he was really worried.

once namjoon didn't get anything else from the younger, he let out a sight of relief. he turned back to his notebook and grabbed his pen once again, scribbling down fastly and messily on it. he finally had the right lyrics for his song.

he scribbled and scribbled, lost in his own world. not noticing the boy who was admiring his beautiful way of putting words together.

namjoon was such an inspiration for jeongguk.

and at this point, the doe-eyed boy was determined to befriend this hyung. he was really going to try his best.
