SCOTT:
The past 2 years have been great. Kirstie went to therapy and got a lot of help. She was grateful for the nurse who recommended it. She only went to therapy for 4 weeks before the therapist cleared her. Ever since then, Kirstie's mental health has been stable.
I'm excited for next week. It's going to be our anniversary so, I decided to do something really special. I woke her up this morning and told her that I was going out with a friend today. She simply nodded and went back to sleep. Before I got ready, I texted Mitch.
Scott: Hey! I need your help with something.
Mitch: Okay. With what?
Scott: Soo... I maybe planning to propose to Kirstie next week.
Mitch: OMG! Thats amazing! But why do you need my help?
Scott: I need you to help me pick out a ring. You know about that kind of stuff a lot better than me.
Mitch: Yeah thats true. Meet me at my house in 20.
I turned off my phone and started getting dressed. I checked the time and I only had 15 minutes to get to Mitch's house. I went downstairs to grab my keys and I walked out to my car. Opening the car door, I got in and put the keys in the ignition. After the car was cranked, I pulled out of the driveway and headed to Mitch's house. I was really excited to see him. This was the first time we have hung out in forever. I'm glad I get to spend time with him. Seeing his driveway, I slowed down and pulled my car in. Mitch must have heard me because he came running out of his house to greet me.
"Amber! Oh my gosh! I have missed you so much!" He said hugging me. Well it was more of a tackle.
I laughed and wrapped my arms around him too. "I've missed you a lot more, Heather!" I pulled away from the hug. "So where do you wanna go first?"

Mitch has dragged me to at least 3 stores and I still haven't found anything I liked. Nothing was just calling out to me. We walked into the final store. I started to make my way around the store. Something caught my eye and I stopped. It was the prettiest yet simple ring I have ever seen. I looked at the price and it was only $394.99. Woah. That's actually cheap for an engagement ring. Im surprised. I know that it is really cheap but I am working on a budget seeing as I still haven't found a job. I called Mitch over to look at it and he gasped.
"Thats perfect! She is going to love it!" He clapped his hands and smiled.
I nodded and rang the bell for a worker to help us. I told him what ring I wanted and what size. He took it out and said it would be a few minutes. We waited for him to come back out. When he did, he rung it up for us and I paid before we left. I got into my car the same time as Mitch, and I stared at the box.
I hope she likes it. Gosh. I'm so ready to ask her but then again i'm not. I'm afraid of what she will say.a week later:
Today is the day. I'm going to ask Kirstie to marry me. I'm actually terrified. I want to make it special but not lame. You feel me? Anyways, I have asked Mitch again, for some help. He called before Kirst woke up today and told me to take her out somewhere while he decorated. I liked the plan. I smiled and walked in Kirstie's room and sat on the edge of the bed. Laughing a little, I nudged her awake. She moved around a bit before opening her eyes, smiling.
"Good Morning, Honey." She said, looking up at me.
"Morning, Angel." I replied, leaning down to kiss her forehead.
She smiled more and giggled softly. "Wait! Today is our anniversary!" She yelled.
"Yes it is." I said laughing.
"What are we going to do today?" She asked while getting out of the bed.
"Well... I'm taking you out for the day and then we're going to come back home and relax." I told her. Just like the plan said.
She nodded in response and walked into the bathroom to take a shower. I went back downstairs to go over the plan again.
1) Take her to eat breakfast.
2) Go to the pet store.
3) Coffee maybe?
4) Go shopping.
5) Be back home at 7:30.-time skip-
After everything we did today, I'm surprised Kirstie isn't tired. I know I'm exhausted. We spent most of our day at the pet shop. She didn't care about shopping as much. She got to look at all of the dogs in the store. It was truly adorable. As we left, I checked the time. It was currently 7:00 so we would have to hurry to get back by 7:30. I raced Kirstie to the car and ended up losing. I have no idea how though, because my legs are freakishly long. While laughing, I got in the car and cranked it. We pulled into the driveway at 7:15. I looked over at Kirstie and smiled.
"Okay. So, I have a surprise for you. When we get inside, close your eyes. Alright?" I told her. She looked at me questioningly.
"Um.. Okay. Sure." She replied.
We got out of the car and went to the front door. I unlocked it and walked inside first. Kirstie stood behind me and put her hands over her eyes. I chuckled softly and got behind her so I could guide her to where she needed to go. I walked her to the backyard and saw Mitch standing by the radio, playing music. Wow. He did such an amazing job at decorating. I didn't know he was this talented.
"Okay, Kirst. You can look now." I said to her.
She uncovered her eyes and looked at the backyard. Covering her mouth, she said, "Oh my gosh! This is so beautiful! Who did this?"
I pointed over to Mitch. She had seen him a few times so, he wasn't exactly a stranger to her. She nodded and looked at me.
"Wait so, why did you do all of this?" She had a confused look on her face.
"Well.." I began. "Kirstie.. You're my dream come true. Honestly, you're my favorite person. You make me so happy and I couldn't ask for a better girlfriend. I want to spend my whole life with you. You're truly the love of my life. And.. I-i want to grow old with you so..." I got down on one knee, "Kirstin Taylor Maldonado, will you marry me?"
Music. Thats all I was hearing. I was starting to get nervous because she was just staring at me. She didn't say anything until a few moments later.
She finally spoke up and said, "I..."
