Andrea's POV
I can't believe it.. well actually I can because it was the same shit all the time. It's only the first day back for school and I'm probably already going to get expelled for sticking up for Vincent.
This blows...
I thought to myself as we sat in Ferrington's office. I don't care about getting kicked out of school in all honesty, I'm not interested in school. What I AM interested in is my english teacher, but you already know that. There's only a handful of reasons I actually show up anyways, she just gave me one more reason.
"I don't know what the three of you were thinking especially YOU, Claire and Vincent. I can expect this type of behavior from Andrea, but what I lack to understand is how the two of you got mixed into this. The three of you have some explaining to do."
"Listen, Mr. Ferrington. It's not either of their faults. I started the fight, they were just trying to stop me from regretting my decision so if you're going to punish anyone it should only be me."
I was throwing myself under the bus. I wasn't about to let them try to take any blame for me considering the fight was my fault in the first place. They both looked at me the same way, confused with deep concern for what could happen. Ferrington's expression read quizzically as he stood in front of us. He was silent for a moment until he spoke.
"Will the two of you wait out in the reception area so Andrea and I can have a word?"
He motioned for them to leave. At that moment, my heart felt a million times heavier as they shuffled out of his office. I wasn't sure what was about to happen, but it couldn't be good. As the door closed, he stayed silent and positioned himself with one leg half draped over the side of his desk.
"Andrea.."
You could tell he was trying to search for the right words, but wasn't sure on what his next move should be so I sat there just waiting for him to speak.
"I don't think there's ever been a time where you've sat here with me and not tried to get out of trouble. Why is it now that I see a shift?"
"Sir, it really wasn't their fault. I'm not going to let my friends try to cover up for me, we both know I can get myself into trouble. That's evident, but I can tell you Rob had it coming. I don't start fights over nothing."
"I honestly don't know what you were thinking. You understand I have to do something about the claims against you, correct? Regardless of if he deserved it or not. I can't have you going around fighting other students."
I took a minute before I replied.
"Yes, I understand. I think you should look for the video's on the internet first before you really make a decision because I know for sure at least one person took a video and that could show you I'm actually not lying to you this time."
"Okay Andrea. I will look into it. Even if you are telling me the truth, I still need to reprimand you for fighting. Here's the plan at hand. While I dig into this I'm giving you in school suspension until I come to a full conclusion."
I already know my chances of being found somewhat innocent are slim to none. I might as well take the loss in the moment if it means I'm not getting expelled. I won't push my luck right now in hopes it'll work in my favor for once.
"Alright Mr. Ferrington."
"You're free to go, but I want you to spend the rest of the day in the detention room. Please send Vincent and Claire in on your way out."
