Chapter 1: Black Bird

(Castiel's POV)

Cas slowly opened his eyes and groaned. For the first time in, well, forever probably, he wasn't excited for the school year to start. He was starting his senior year of high school today, at a new school. Cas crawled out of his bed and rubbed his eyes. He was living with his older sister, Anna. He had just moved here with his little brother, Gabriel, after his mom had kicked him out...but he didn't want to think about that today.

After hurriedly dressing himself in a white button-down shirt, a light blue sweater vest, and a pair of jeans, and after brushing down his dark, messy hair, Castiel scampered downstairs.

He found Gabriel in the kitchen, devouring a bowl of Lucky Charms mixed with Skittles.

Cas picked up the plate of eggs Anna had made for him and stared disapprovingly at Gabriel's breakfast.

Gabe caught his stare. "What?!" he challenged, his mouth full of the rainbow, sugary mess.

Castiel sighed. "Nothing, it's just... That is not healthy for you."

Gabe snickered. "But it's good" he replied with a wink.

"Well, come on." Cas decided to just ignore his brother's sickening eating habits for now; he had bigger things to worry about. Like what was going to happen today... "You don't want to be late for your first day as a freshman!"

"Oh I'm ready, Cassie!" Gabe popped a sucker in his mouth and jumped up.

He is going to kill himself with all that sugar! Cas thought to himself as he shook his head. After they said goodbye to Anna, who didn't have work until later, Cas drove himself and Gabe to their new school.

(Dean's POV)

Dean pulled up to the high school with his brother, Sam, in his black 1967 Chevy Impala. This sweet baby was his pride and joy.

"Hey, have fun, Sammy!" Dean called to his younger brother, a freshman, who was already out of the car and walking quickly towards the school.

He turned around and shouted, "You too, but not too much fun!" He winked at Dean. "And it's Sam, not Sammy!"

"Whatever," Dean muttered as he lazily made his way to the main building. Nothing fun ever happens around here, he thought to himself.
