Peter sat in a chair across from Tony. Please. Please let him wake up soon.
Peter couldn't handle losing another person. If Tony left, it Tony is gone. How could he move on? Aunt May still was a fresh, raw wound. He couldn't deal with another. No, he wouldn't have to. He's just sleeping.
He'll wake up feeling perfectly normal. And they can do something.
Peter felt very guilty. The last time they talked wasn't about Tony's favorite subject. He didn't even know if Tony hated him.
Oh god, what if Tony hated him?
"What're you thinking about?" Peter finally took his eyes off of Tony. He looked at the doorway. Natasha was leaning against the door frame.
"Nothing." Peter looked down at his hands. Natasha pushed herself up and started to walk towards him.
Please go away.
She sat down in a chair next to him.
"How long has it been?" She asked him. He didn't want to talk about it. But they were closer to him than Peter was. If anything they should know before Peter.
"In two hours it'll be 72 hours."
Natasha sighed. She looked at Tony. Sure he was a pain in the ass when he was awake, but he looked really peaceful sleeping.
"God. He really needs to get more sleep. He never sleeps," Natasha said mostly to herself. Three days is a long time.
But she didn't come down to talk about Tony. Well, of course she wanted t check on him. But she was here to talk to Peter.
"I saw the news," Peter flinched. He totally forgot all about that. How everyone knew he was Spider-Man. Well, possibly they knew. "You're quite the fighter, buddy."
Peter didn't want to think about that. Hurting the girl, those two men. Tony. Hurting Tony.
"Is that how you all found out...?"
"What? Oh, no. The TV didn't tell us anything. No one could."
Then how did Steve know? Does Natasha even know? Did Tony tell them? He thought he didn't want them knowing.
"Then how do you know?" He asked. Natasha didn't want to say how they talked about him. She didn't want him thinking they didn't want him here.
"Know what? That you're Spider-Man? C'mon kid. We were on the same side."
"I mean for a little bit. Then you-."
"Doesn't matter about that," Peter smiled, finally looking at her. "Plus. Tony Stark doesn't just bring in random kids."
That makes sense. Tony wouldn't just bring in some random kid for this long to live with him. But why was Peter different? They did get closer but he wouldn't call them that close. But then again he did call him at school, maybe they were closer than he thought.
"Yeah. I guess that makes sense."
"Plus I'm the Black Widow. Russian spy. I can do anything." Peter smiled even more. It was kind of cool he got to hang with the Avengers.
It was quiet for a while. Peter was looking at Tony and Natasha was staring into space. He wondered what she was thinking about. But his thoughts were louder than his curiosity.
Tony should be up by tomorrow. Everything will be fine.
"Are you hungry?" She asked him. Peter stood up right after Natasha.
"Yes."
Almost everyone was at the table. They got postmates from some fancy restaurant Peter only dreamed of going to. At first he didn't want everything. As he was going through the menu he kept looking at the prices. Everything was so expensive. The cheapest thing was 34.99 which was for a side salad.
