Turns out there's a reason why everybody told you how difficult the beginning of a relationship with your soulmate was going to be. But no one told you how being linked to Spiderman was a million times harder.

First of all you just met this guy and there's this pressure for you to hit it off right away and be a couple in seconds because that's what faith told you but that's not how humans work, I mean, how can you trust someone you just met? Ok, so maybe faith hasn't told you to turn into a couple right now but your annoying aunt sure has on her weekly phone calls. And to top it all off Peter keeps blowing you off because he needs to "save New York from aliens" and when he's free you really need to study for your finals, after all you're a freshman in college you need to make a good first impression. Thinking about it now Peter never studies, hell you're not even sure if he's going to school most days, and he is always on top of his class.

So you guys decided to be just friends for now, at least until it feels right for you guys to be more than that. Unfortunately it's not going the way you planned because sometimes he flies into your living room in the middle of the night all suited up in red and blue and fuck, he is taller than you and when you least expect it you're kissing him on your couch or he's kissing you against a wall every goddamned time. Anyway, that's the story of why he's forbidden from visiting you at night and also the story of why you decided to date college guys for a while (that didn't last because Spiderman kept finding dirt on the guys you dated and they would show up webbed up to a wall every now and then)

When summer break finally started for both you and Peter you decided to have a serious talk with him, you were planning on what to say, something along the lines of "I need space" or "We are way too young for a commitment as serious as this, maybe faith was wrong in putting us together this soon" so when Peter arrived with a rose bouquet saying all the right things like "I know we're young and that you're freaked out, I know you don't wanna miss out on life because you're stuck to a soulmate so early. But having a soulmate doesn't mean you can't do whatever you want, it only means you have someone to do those things with you. I have no intention in keeping you from anything Y/N, I just wanna be there with you." it was safe to say that shut you up quickly.

You never thought much about your age difference until then, he was a year younger than you, he was still in High School but he was more mature than you gave him credit for. It was the second time you didn't see him just as Peter or just as Spiderman, he was Peter with all the baggage that Spiderman came with. He defeated aliens with the Avengers, he stopped regular and mutant bad guys from hurting civilians, he had enemies trying to kill him all the time but he would still find time to go to school like a normal teenager and to prepare speeches to tell you he wants to be there for you.

How could that not be the guy for you? As you kissed him you could only thank whatever forces brought you two together, Peter Parker was your soulmate and you couldn't be happier.
