A/N:
Hey guys! Sorry for not posting for a while, I had no time, due to my final exams. But it's all good now 'cause I graduated!!🎓👩‍🎓
I've got some nice ideas, if I do say so myself, for this story, soooooo you'll see them soon enough!
Also, you probably noticed this chapter is called 'Friend Like Me', and yes, of course that was totally inspired by the new Aladdin movie. I looooooooove the new movie and 'Friend Like Me', soooo, if you want to listen to the song (both Robin Williams' and Will Smith's version), I inserted them both at the bottom.

Anyways, on with the magic🧙🏻‍♀️✨

(Y/N)'s p.o.v.

Nothing. No sight of him at all.

I've been roaming around the castle for at least 10 minutes now, and I still haven't found Neville. If only I knew him better, that'd make the search way easier. I'm gonna get lost here, I don't even know this castle.

Well, I guess this is one way to get to know the magnificent Hogwarts.

When I pass the Defence Against The Dark Arts classroom, I hear a vague noise. It sounds like someone's sobbing...
"That must be Neville...", I say to myself.
I walk around the corner, and bingo. There is Neville, all by himself, sobbing on a stairway.
He notices my concerned look, and wipes away his tears.

"Hey... Are you okay?", I carefully ask him.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. I'm okay." He says, whilst turning his head away from me. He is clearly not 'okay'.

"I'm sorry Neville, but we both know you're not. Tell me, what's wrong?" He returns his gaze to me, and furrows his brows.

"Why do you care, you don't even know me and I don't know you. I'm not your problem." He says, with a little angry undertone in his voice.

"I care, because I can see you're upset and I wanna help you. I promise I can handle it, I've had my fair share of drama in my life. Come on, tell me. You can trust me.", I try to comfort him.

"It's my parents. They were tortured with the cruciatus curse by deatheater Bellatrix Lestrange. They're in St. Mungos now because of that."

"Neville, I'm so so-"

"Moody casted that curse like it was nothing. And that made me realize that's probably how my parents lost their minds. I've heard that Bellatrix Lestrange is absolutely ruthless, and that she even laughs while she's torturing her victims. Normally I can manage my thoughts like that, but the sight of Moody casting that curse made it all way too real."

"I'm so sorry, Neville, that's awful. You should tell Professor Dumbledore. Moody's behavior was not okay."

"I'll think about it... (Y/N)?"

"Yes?"

"Do you know what the worst part is?"

"I don't..."

"I can't even have a small conversation with them. With my parents. Whenever I try to talk to them, they look straight through me. Like I'm not even there. Have you ever been invisible to your parents?"

"Not like this. I'm very sorry you have to go through this. If you ever want to talk, I'm here for you, okay?"

"I don't want to put you up with my problems."
I give him a soft smile.

"It's not like that. I want to be there for you. Okay?"
Neville's eyes start to glisten and nods.

"So... Does that mean we're... 'friends' now?"
