The day started early for Sapphire. She awoke, mind filling with thoughts of Hogwarts. Hogwarts.

She sprung out of bed, a grin wide on her pale, freckled face. Her trunk sat already packed at the end of her bed, her clothes for today laid out on top of it. Sapphire ran for the bathroom shared amongst the family, beating Ron to the door by seconds. Laughing, she hopped in the shower and began preparing for the day ahead.

The train station was packed to the brim with muggles, witches and wizards alike. Mum was ranting at the top of her lungs, Sapphire almost thought she couldn't get any louder. She almost didn't notice a thin, scrawny boy join their ranks before it was her time to run through the brick wall that was the entrance to platform 9 3/4.

The scarlett train sat proudly, waiting for all the students to fill it's compartments before setting of on it's journey to Hogwarts. Eager to leave, Sapphire hastily wrapped my arms around both her parents, placing a kiss on both their cheeks and promising to write.

She wandered the length of the train, looking for an empty compartment or one with her siblings. She happened across a compartment with two brutish looking boys and beside them, a handsome boy with platinum blonde hair slicked back with gel.

Knocking on the door, Sapphire slid the compartment door back, slowly presenting herself to the boys.

"Hi" She smiled shyly. "My name's Sapphire. I was wondering if I could sit with you? I can't seem to find my siblings."

The handsome boy smirked in her direction. "Of course a pretty thing like you can sit with us. My name's Malfoy, Draco Malfoy. That's Crabbe" he nodded towards the heavier of the two other boys "and that's Goyle."

Draco patted the empty seat next to him, and Sapphire gingerly slid into it.

The journey flew by with laughter and sweets, purchased of the trolley. Although Sapphire insisted that sh didn't want anything, Draco purchased an armful and persisted until she shared them with him.

Shortly after that they had arrived at hogwarts, all the firsts gathered in a semi-circle around Hagrid, a tall, half-giant that would guide them to the castle.

"No more then four to a boat." Hagrid rough, Scottish accent rang out. A hand grabbed onto Sapphire's arm, pulling her away from Draco. She turned to face the owner of the hand, only to come face to face with Ronald, her twin brother and the scrawny kid that she had seen at the train station.

"There you are" Ron exclaimed, "where were you?". Sapphire glared at him in disbelief.

"I happened to make some new friends Ronald, and now, thanks to you I've lost them in the crowd." She heard the scrawny kid snicker softly, "And who the bloody hell are you?"

"I'm Harry Potter. It's nice to meet you." The scrawny kid held his hand out for Sapphire to shake. She shook it gingerly, eyeing him.

"The pleasure is mine. Now I really think we should find a boat."

It wasn't long until Hagrid was pounding on the big, oak doors of the castle known as Hogwarts. A stern woman with her hair scrapped back tightly into a severe bun, opened the door and thanked Hagrid for bringing the first years safely to the castle. They followed her in a close crowd to the entrance outside another pair of oak double doors. From the sounds of the chatter and the clinking of plates, Sapphire assumed it was the great hall.

"Now if you will all wait here, I will come and get you. I suggest you tidy yourselves up." She disappeared behind the double doors.

A tap on Harry's shoulder sent him spinning around, Ron and Sapphire turning with him. Draco stood there proudly, a smirk present on his face.
