4; buddy

kiba hasn't been to school in two days and no one has talked to him since. shino and i tried calling him but he never answered. same for when shino and i tried to visit him in his house. he still lived in the same place. he was still in the same neighborhood as shikamaru.

"hinata! please pay attention! my goodness, now what is the answer?"

"h-huh?? i-i'm so sorry!!" i yelped, i looked over to the board.

oh.

"thirteen coma, four x by the power of 3 coma, plus eighteen x minus one." i said, that's right, right?

i'm sure it is-

"hinata hyuga. we have a test coming up next week,  i hope you tried looking for your buddy, because buddies are the only ones able to help you. come see me after class if you have any questions."

i nodded looking down, "you might have gotten the answer right hinata, but please, please pay attention next time alright?"

class ended finally and i stayed after class.
ms. kurenai stood by her desk leaning on it wearing a red business skirt, and a white blouse. she readjusted her glasses and crossed her arms, "hinata."

"yes...?" i said in a nervous tone, i bit the inside of my lip gently.

"have you asked the front office for your buddy? it is very important for you to have one. it is a school policy in this district so if you haven't then i'll ask who they assigned you with."

"i... i did ask, they said that i should come in for lunch today," i told her, she took her glasses off and sat down at her desk.

"yes, i am calling because i want to know one of my students buddy." she said through the phone. she had made a phone call and i stood waiting near the door.

"yes, hyuga." she said into the phone. "thank you. you too," she wrote down on a piece of paper as she gave it to me after her call was done.

"your buddy is tenten mitsashi." she told me, i nodded.

"i- um, okay. i'll go now, th-thank you..." i said walking to the lunchroom.

tenten mitsashi? why does that name seem so familiar?

"hey hina, were you about to eat?" i turned to who called out to me and saw shino and sasuke walking around with their friends.

"mhm, hey shino, who's your buddy?" i asked him

"why? what's up?" he asked walking up to me, while the others followed.

"i found out who mine was but i don't know who she is." i said smiling,

"i requested for kiba to be my buddy and he is as of now. who's your buddy? what's their name?" he asked,

"tenten." i said,

"tenten is a junior? she shouldn't be your buddy. buddies have to be in the same grade as you hinata. are you sure?" i was.

i nodded, "ms. kurenai checked for me..." but i guess i should check in the office though right?

i ate lunch with shino and his friends and we made introductions. shino was friends with nice people, i'm glad he's doing so well.

i checked in with the office and they said that the counselor would send me an email since the counselor was out for the day. i came home early and was taken home by shino.

"thank you, be careful getting home kay?" i yelled waving bye when he and sasuke left. were they best friends now?

i was a little sad that he doesn't hang out with kiba anymore, i barely saw them together and if i did, it was because i was there with them.

"i'm home father, how was work?" i asked walking into the kitchen, looking through the fridge as i placed my bag on the island.

"hey sweet pea, work was great, how was school?" he said smiling.

i took out a water bottle and apple pie from the fridge, "it was okay. my friend walked me home today and offered to walk me home everyday." i told him eating apple pie.

"and who is this friend?" he said looking over to me,

"father, remember shino and kiba?"

"oh, i love those boys. next time he walks you ask him to stay for dinner alright?" i nodded,

"kay,"

"and how about that kiba boy? weren't you all always together when we were here? how has he been?" he asked,

"he's good, he's never been better actually," i lied to him while i smiled.

did i just lie to father??

i never lied.

not once and not ever.

but-

"that's great, hanabi went out with her friends from when she was a child and it's just us two at the house." he smiled, i smiled back,

"i'm glad she already has friends here." i smiled walking to my room.

i flopped down on my bed and placed my bag down. i sat up and then put my hair into a fan bun, i got out my study guide for algebra two and tried to study.

who would my buddy be?

i gasped, "i- um, hello?" i said when i answered my phone.

i put it on speaker, "hey hinata. it's shino, i got your  number and i was wondering if you wanted to hang out at my house tomorrow. does your father still know me?"

"um yeah, but why all of a sudden? i actually have to study for the test next week and i have no one  to study with so i have to do it by myself. will kiba be there??" i asked him, he gave a sigh,

"well i haven't heard from him. but that's what i called you about, i can be your buddy until your test comes up." he said, i agreed on his offer and we agreed to walk study at his house instead of mine.

i said my goodbyes and hung up, getting another notification.

'hello, this is your counselor ms. shizune, i am here to inform you on who your buddy is. we have arranged you and sasuke uchiha to be buddies. you may not change buddies unless the second semester comes around, if you do have any problems, feel free to email back. we cannot place you with another student, so if you don't want him as your buddy then you will have to work alone for the rest of the semester.'
