Logan was frightened.

When Roman and Virgil had burst into his room unannounced, he was fuming and completely taken aback. Normally, no one other than the owner of their room can open their door, but sometimes under desperate measures Anxiety can force it's way into any situation.

As stated before, Logan was incredibly irritated with the pair. They had battled into his private space, while he was working no less. (Thomas had to do his taxes somehow, and he was the only one willing to do them.) But, the anger had ebbed away when he saw the tear stains on Virgil's face, and the complete lack of color in Roman's.

"What in the devil-"
"Logan, you- you have to get h-him out! We c-can't get in, he's stuck in there-there with... with-"

Virgil would have kept stumbling on for hours if it wasn't for Logan's firm hand on his purple and black clad shoulder. Virgil was known to ramble when he was upset, but what put Logan off was a single question; What could have upset him enough to nearly tear the door off of it's hinges?

"Slow down, breathe. Remember- rules of four." Logan's instructions felt like code that was hardwired into his system. Patton had shared them with the others when Virgil had first appeared- and when the nervous side wouldn't stop having panic attacks any time one of the others spoke a damn word to him. As frustrating as this process was, he could handle it. He could handle anything.

But Logan was still frightened.

After a second, Virgil nodded and breathed deeply. Roman hugged the shorter boy into his chest and met Logan's gaze. His eyes were beginning to water, and the hand that wasn't around Virgil's shoulders laid on the handle of his sword. He hadn't unsheathed it, but seeing as how white his knuckles were and the now visible veins in his hand were popping out, he had been gripping it for a while.

"There's something-" A very audible tremor appeared in Roman's voice, causing him to clear his throat. "Something very, very wrong with Patton."

Time stopped. Suddenly everything was grey and slow, like Logan was swimming in cold tar. Wrong, with Patton? Impossible, the cardigan-clad side was a never ending bubble of joy, a bouncing ball of sunshine and a spinning wheel of dad jokes. He was incredibly easy to read. Logan would have noticed if something was wrong-

"Shit." The word tumbled out of Logan's lips before he could think. Roman looked up in confusion- Logan hated swearing, it had always been beneath him. It always seemed crude and vile, and just an annoyance and damper on otherwise intelligent conversation.

But the reason Logan swore is because he did notice that something was wrong, he just never jotted it down, never cared. He flung himself over to his incredulously cluttered desk, throwing out spilled coffee mugs and rolled up maps of stars, notepads and sticky notes went flying as he dug through the drawers.

Logan pulled out a single, spiral-bound notebook out from the bottom of many papers. Tabs stuck out through the pages and he flipped to the last one, labeled Patton.  He kept log of everything. Logan was a creature of habit, always taking note of every single detail and storing it away. Most of the time it stayed with him, but sometimes it got lost.

Patton was always one of Logan's least concerns. He never seemed to get knocked down, or fall and stumble like the other two. He was always the one picking up the pieces after they all had massive arguments. He never thought to keep Patton in the front of his mind. But, he still noticed.

Roman's mouth slacked as Virgil's eyes widened. Multiple incredibly detailed sketches littered the pages, most of them were of Patton smiling or cleaning the frames of his glasses. Amongst the pen doodles were paragraphs of behavior and physical traits. One was incredibly long, and the date had been scratched out.

"tired today. wore the cat onesie instead of around his shoulders. one deep scar on his wrist, didn't bother with it. frowned today."

Next to that paragraph was a side profile drawing of Patton. His eyes were closed, and his lips formed a very neutral expression that on him looked like one of the most depressed faces Logan had ever seen. How he had not remembered this, he had no idea.

Logan was now so incredibly terrified, and so very frightened.
