Chapter 2: The Missing Miraculous

"No Adrien come back," I screamed
I couldn't let him go inside,what if who ever broke in was still there. I couldn't lose the love of my life. I grabbed his wrist and he turned to me.
"Adrien I can't let you go in there, I don't want you to get hurt or die, please,"I begged but Adrien wouldn't listen.
"I have to protect you princess at all costs" Adrien refused to back down.
I sighed, "Well than at least go as chat."
I pulled out of my purse a jewelry case with his miraculous in it.
"But- Marinette I thought we agreed on keeping them in the box"
"I know we did kitty but it didn't feel safe to leave them there so I held on just for emergencies"
I slightly moved the miraculous to him as he put it on.
"Long time no see huh?" A black cat like creature appeared by his side.
"Plagg oh how have you been I missed you" Adrien replied.
"This little reunion is very cute but you should go check the house while I check on the kids"
Adrien nodded
"Plagg, Claws out"
Adrien became Chat noir once more and searched the house.I walk to the car and watched the kids fast asleep looking angelic.

A hand touched my shoulder and I immediately pinned them to the ground not realizing who it was.

"DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH ME,MY HUSBAND OR MY KIDS OR YOU'll REGRET IT"
"Ummmmm"
"UMMM WHAT YOU GOT SOMETHING YOU WANT TO SAY TO ME HUH"
"Marinette it's me"
"ME WHOOO"
"CHAT"
I quickly jumped of him.
"Oh I'm so sorry kitty, but DON'T YOU DARE SNEAK UP ON ME LIKE THAT"
"I think I learned my lesson princess."
His soft lips kissed my cheek to make up for scaring me badly.
"Plagg,claws in"
"Time to say your goodbyes for now," I said to Plagg and Adrien
"Can I PLEASE get some camembert,I'm so hungry my stomach is eating itself,"Plagg said dramatically.
"Here," I handed Plagg his camembert.
Plagg starts fan girling about the cheese and I couldn't help but giggle.
"Marinette, I like you better than Adrien, I hope you know that"Plagg whispered in my ear.
"Hey I heard that," Adrien yelled then said bye to Plagg and returned the ring to me.
"Let's finally get so rest" I yawned out.
We grabbed the kids and tuck them into bed.
Adrien crawled into bed as I squeezed into his arms. Adrien instantly passed out yet I couldn't sleep. I check my phone to see the time is 3:00 am. I gently removed Adriens arms off me and got up. I stared out our window watching the world slowly operating.
"m-m'Lady"
I quickly turn around to see Adrien rubbing his eyes .
"Why don't you come back to bed" Adrien grinned as I nodded.
I went back to bed and turned to face Adrien. He pulled me into a tight and close embrace. Our eyes meet and I couldn't help but blushed. He played with my hair and smiled at me warmly. In his embrace I felt safe,I listened to his heartbeat and doze off.

The sun broke through the window and filled the room with light. I woke up before Adrien did and I couldn't help but play with his golden locks of hair.
"Good morning princess," Adrien mumbled
"Good morning kitty," I replied with a huge smile on my face.
It wasn't too long till Emma and Hugo came into our room demanding breakfast by stomping and screaming, "We want breakfast." Over and Over again they shouted until Adrien gave in to their request. He got out of bed and went downstairs to cook breakfast. I got up and  dressed for the day in my blue mom jeans and a ladybug shirt I made when I was 17. I grabbed a cup of coffee and walked back to our room to check on the miracle box.
I put in the code in as the record player opened up to display the miraculous.
I left Chat's ring right next to my earrings. I greatly missed tikki and being ladybug but there was no need to use the miraculous anymore.
I continue to check on the rest to make sure they were all there.
My coffee slipped out of my hand and my jaw dropped.
Tears start to form in my eyes.

"MARINETTE"
I heard Adriens voice cry out but I couldn't respond.
"MARINETTE WHERE ARE YOU"
Adrien franticly went looking into all the rooms.
He opened our bedroom door and I just sat on the floor crying,tuning myself out of the world.

"Marinette!  What happened?  What's wrong? Your legs are bleeding, please talk to me."
Adrien held me as I couldn't stop crying.

"I I- I lost a mi- miraculous,"I stuttered barring my head into my legs.
"I t-told y-you I'm the w-worst  p-pick for g-guardian."
