Vaulting after them, we tumbled as I reached then twisted one of their necks. Horrified, his acolyte tried to get up.
I sprained his ankle, grounding him in agonizing pain, as my hands lumbered across his whining face.
Once my fingers left his bloody skull, I collapsed. A red puddle swelled, leaving little time to ride out of the death road, my lungs staking my ribs as my breath caught.
