To say the least Taehyung world came crashing down at the age of five when his mother kept asking him if he smelled the delicious scent of her famous chocolate chip cookies that were cooling on the countertop, Taehyung shook his head in confusion, it didn't smell like anything to him, there was no sweet scent like she described it.
His mother, determined to get her sons approval on her famous chocolate chip cookies, grabbed one of the cookies from the cooling rack and broke off a piece and carefully blew on it since they hadn't fully cooled and waved Taehyung over and gave him the piece, Taehyung put the piece in his mouth and chewed it slowly as he tried to taste the melted chocolate chips in his mouth, he frowned and opened his mother to tell her that it didn't taste like anything and began to cry because the texture was making him feel uncomfortable since there was no taste to it and because he realized he couldn't enjoy cookies like his the rest of his classmates and friends.
Slightly disappointed Taehyungs mother stood up and consoled her little boy but then smiled because she now knew her boys significant other loved cookies, she couldn't wait for them to meet just so they could taste her famous chocolate chip cookies.
Taehyung grew up unbothered by the fact he had no idea what cookies smelled like. Although he was teased about it by his friends, he could care less.
Currently Taehyung was sitting in the cafe that was down the street from his college building, he was intoxicated by the smell that had filled the cafe. It was such a sweet and comforting scent, it was so sweet that he got a bit dizzy. It was a new scent to him, one his nose never encountered. He brushed it off as one of the pastries that were displayed around him, he sipped his matcha latte as he scrolled through his Instagram feed mindlessly. Once he finished his drink he got up to throw it out and walked towards the door but before leaving he closed his eyes and deeply inhaled the sweet scent once more, he exhaled and felt satisfied and all warm and tingly, he chuckled softly to himself and walked out, failing to notice that in the back part of the cafe sat a boy that had a cup of coffee and a small plate of cookies beside him, as he laughed at something his friend was saying.
