Chapter 3
●●●
When Taehyung was seventeen there were a couple of things he'd come to terms with.
1. He had a one-sided love for Jimin he was never going to act on, because Jimin absolutely despised anything related to tentacles, to the point where he didn't want to eat fried calamari.
2. Taehyung kind of hated his tentacles too... because they were the thing that stopped him from asking Jimin out and
3. somehow Taehyung was in relationship.
He had no idea how exactly it had happened, but now he and a girl from the neighborhood were dating. Admittedly he still spent about three times the amount of time he spent with her with Jimin, but that was actually not a lot considering that they were both pretty busy now.
Not that they didn't see each other every single day in class and spent a minimum of two hours just hanging out, but it was less than it had been in the past, when they had been inseparable. Now Jimin was dancing, which had turned out to be his passion, and Taehyung apparently had a girlfriend.
Now, it was going to be Taehyung's birthday in just a few days and Taehyung was kind of looking forward to it, but he was also anxious. Because Mina had promised him a gift. A very unique one. Taehyung was going to turn eighteen and she had promised she'd take his virginity the day he turned eighteen.
The thing was... Taehyung should be looking forward to it. And he really did, at least in the aspect of losing his virginity and having sex. But he'd also made a decision, years ago, about how he was going to tell his partner about his little secret before having sex.
Which meant he'd have to tell her. And that, he really didn't look forward to. Sometimes he wished he could just somehow get rid of that part of him. That it would somehow magically disappear, which of course wasn't going to happen, but he really wanted it to.
He hardly even let his tentacles roam freely anymore. He hated looking at them. What good did they do? Fuck up his friendships and relationships if anyone was to ever find out? That's the only thing they were good for.
"Thanks for picking me up." Jimin smiled happily before pulling Taehyung into a tight hug.
"How was the rehearsal?" Taehyung asked, his eyes slowly wandering over the boy's body. Jimin had grown up well. He was still a bit on the short-ish side, but his muscular shoulders, arms and legs as well as his sharp jaw served as a good reminder that he was indeed a guy, even if the curve of his lips, eyes and nose had something feminine to it, in the most attractive way possible.
It was still a riddle to Taehyung why Jimin wasn't dating anyone. It certainly wasn't due to a lack of girls that were interested. Jimin either never noticed or didn't care.
Not that Taehyung was complaining. He enjoyed the fact that Jimin almost always had time for him if he wasn't training. He had always been Jimin's first priority and he certainly didn't want anything to change about that.
"The rehearsal was rough." Jimin pressed a towel to the side of his neck walking next to Taehyung, drying off droplets of sweat that had gathered there. Taehyung couldn't help but stare. Goddamn hormones. "Hoseok really makes sure all of us use up every last bit of energy we have." Jimin laughed, before letting the towel loosely hang over his shoulders like a cape, at least finally covering up his muscular shoulders that were rather distracting.
"Let me guess. You two were the last ones standing?" Taehyung asked and Jimin giggled. "Something along those lines."
They walked in silence for a while, not an uncomfortable one. "So what would you like as a birthday present?"
Taehyung grinned, poking Jimin's side. "You."
"Uh huh sure you do. I don't think Mina would be all that happy." Jimin joked, before linking his arm with Taehyung's. "Come on, what do you want. My grandparents gave me some money a while ago, so it could even be something bigger."
Taehyung shook his head. "Don't get me a present, but you have to be 24/7 available on my birthday. You'll sleep over the day before and then I want you to be glued to your phone after that party... I want you to be the first person I text after... you know... Mina." Taehyung blushed and Jimin smiled.
"Awww my baby's growing up. Trust me, I'll be waiting for your call. You have to tell me everything okay? No leaving out any details." Jimin ordered, interlinking their hands.
Taehyung blushed, looking down at his shoes. He really hoped he'd have something positive to tell Jimin, but he was scared. "Yeah I will."
"Don't get embarrassed now. You'll do great I just know it." Jimin promised, reassuringly wrapping his second hand around Taehyung's free one and rubbing it.
"I hope so."
