* RECAP *
I hesitantly read the caller I.D. on my phone. It read, "Unknown." My body froze as I gawked at my phone in awe struck terror. I paced across the oak wood floor as my thoughts debated on whether I should pick up or not. Could it really be him again? Do I answer it? Do I ignore it?
I took a deep breath as I froze in the center of my room with my right hand's pointer finger at my lips nervously, and my phone in my shaking left hand, "Hello?"
-------------------------------
"Hey, you know, you live in a nice neighborhood." I stood frozen in the center of my room and my eyes napped open at the stranger's sudden casualty-ness. Then what he just said hit me. He knows where I live? How the hell does he know where I live? He's got to be kidding!
"Um..." I thought of a response for a second.
"You always seem lost for words when we talk. Though, you're perfectly fine with your friends." Again, I was stunned. Does he really know as much as he tells about?
"Do you really know where I live? And of course I'm better with my friends! You're a complete stranger, yet you say things like that." My voice began to lower as I spoke.
"Honestly, I do...n't know where you live. I do know other things though. i know basically everything about you." Once he stopped talking, with his deep velvet like voice, I gathered my thoughts.
"You... you're lying aren't you? You do know where I live, huh?" My voice became unsteady as my questions popped out of my mouth.
I heard his tongue click before he answered me, "Yes, I do. You're very smart, Marie." I shuddered as he spoke my name. It's so creepy, but there is something attractive about his voice.
"Are you going to continue calling me like this?" I wondered. For some odd reason, a small part of me wanted him to say yes, that he is going to keep on calling me.
His end of the line was silent for a few seconds. I thought I heard a frustrated sigh before his voice came through, "Yes, I'm going to continue calling you... Marie." I got goose bumps and shuddered again as he spoke my name. I heard him chuckle, but couldn't find a reason as to why he's chuckling.
I sat down on my bed and sighed, "Then, can I know something about you?" As my thoughts were put into words I realized how crazy I sounded.
"My name is Daniel." He responded right away. I felt my face heat up. He has my favorite male name! I pulled my phone away from myself as I resisted the odd urge to squeal, holding my breath. As I felt it come up I panicked and slapped a random part of my body.
"Ow!" I yelped as I felt a hot, tingling sensation cover the part of my thigh I had slapped. I pulled the waist band of my sweats up and peaked at my leg and saw a bright red hand print against my pale skin.
"What happened?" Daniel's voice sounded bored for the most part, but I sensed shock or worry from my sudden out burst. The waist band on my sweats slipped from my fingers and snapped down on my hips soundless and painlessly.
"Um... nothing. Just an... accident." I concluded, blushing. I heard chuckling on the other side of the line again. "Is it you that's been chuckling?" I asked, curiosity thick in my voice.
