25. Shopping

I was so excited as we entered the skate shop. Alex George and I had brought our boards, Will was looking at various decks hung on the wall clearly bored.

"Hey Adam." George calls to the man fixing the shoe display on the far wall.

"Hey George! And friends." Adam replies smiling at us all. "What can I do to help you today?"

"I need new trucks, and Khloe here needs bearings." George says smiling at me before turning back to Adam and placing his board on the counter.

"Your wheels and stuff still okay or just the trucks?" Adam asks George walking over to inspect.

"Aww guys look how wicked this thing looks." Will says pointing at a new deck on the wall.

That's a pretty decent deck." I reply going to stand with him. "Do you want one Will? I'll teach you how to board?" I smile at him as a look of fear flashes across his face. "I mean come on, I taught Alex. It's not as bad as you probably think, you used to ride when we were younger." I say.

"Yeah but that was with Da holding my hands." Will replies before shrugging, "if it makes me part of the gang then let's get me a board."

Guys please I just need to pop in quick I know exactly what I want I will genuinely be 3 minutes max!" I say pointing at the Superdrug.

"Absolutely not." Will says straight up refusing. "You'll be hours."

"I agree with Will." Alex says looking uneasily at the pink shop front. I turn and pout at Will.

"Why don't you tell me what it is you need, I'll go in and get it, and that way you won't get distracted?" George suggests. I swear my heart melts at this suggestion. Little disappointed I won't be shopping myself but I suppose it would give me an excuse to go in myself if he got it wrong.

"Fine, it's the Makeup Revolution setting spray. White bottle black label." I say handing him a tenner. He takes it and heads into the shop. He looks so out of place amongst all the female shoppers inside.

"What's the bet he has the wrong brand but right product?" Alex says. "Actually nah, right brand wrong product."

"No way mate he'll have both wrong." Will says. "Khloe what's your bet!"

"I trust him." I say not wanting to join in with the game. George starts walking towards the checkout and mentally I hope he has got the right thing.

"Bet he has a primer or something." Alex says laughing.

"How do you even know what that is." Will asks. "Bit gay." I just watch Alex's face falter and I see red and snap.

"How dare you use that sort of expression Will! Homophobia isn't a good look. You don't suit it." I scowl and am about to continue but Will interrupts me.

"You know I support you Khlo, I hadn't realised you were into girls ya know." I falter at what he's said and I can tell the other two don't know how to react either.

"I'm not gay Will." I whisper. I look at George. "I'm in love with someone but it's not a female. I just don't like homophobia."

"I'm the one who's gay Will." Alex says speaking up.
