Chapter 6 Developing your Tarot reading skills

Like any other skill, it can be learned and developed as you go along. No one is born with all the skills they want in life; it takes hard work and dedication. In order to actually develop this skill, you need to be sure with all your heart that this is what you want.

You want to make sure that this is something that matters to you and that you believe it will change the lives of those around you. This is the key to learning a skill, you cant be a painter and love paint but develop an expertise in Artificial intelligence.

Below I have compiled a list for you to develop your Tarot reading skills so that you can do what you love with full potential.

Build curiosity

In order to want to develop a skill, you need to be curious about the profession. Creating interest is a way to keep you interested, and you will naturally want to get it done so it won't feel like a drag to you. in order to build a skill, you need to be interested in the topic.

To keep building curiosity, you need to make sure that you don't label the subject that you are working on as dull. When it comes to building up interest, you need to make sure that you keep an open mind at all times.

You have to see learning a new topic and skill is fun and that learning itself, in general, is fun. You are going to struggle to keep up with everything that you are supposed to learn if you are not up to the task.

Make a habit out of asking questions

This isn't a situation where you are stuck in a full classroom of people. You should not be afraid to ask questions. Asking questions will give you a much better understanding of the topic. Being outgoing and wanting to know the answers will bring you to asking more questions.

You will be able to get the answer to all the questions that you may have, that you do not understand. This will expand your view on the topic and get you more interested. Which once again will lead you to ask much more questions so that you, yourself will be able to have a better understanding in general.

The more you know, the better it is for you, but you can never know enough. So never stop asking questions.

Find your role model

This may not be a comfortable journey to go through alone. So, do yourself a favor and find yourself a role model. Someone that you can look up to you and someone that you want to be like. And work to achieve all of your role models goals.

This will not only motivate you but force you to get where you want to be in a positive manner. My role model was the lady that first read tarot cards for me. I wanted to be just like her! Insightful, happy, and down-to-earth.

Your role model is supposed to be a person that you look up to. Finding a role model will build your curiosity and force you to stay interested in developing the skill at your full potential.

Find a mentor

This is one of the best things that you can do. Unfortunately for me, I wanted my mentor to be the same person as my role model. From what I heard, then the lady had already passed away. That left me having to find someone else with the same set of skills to be my mentor and teach me the right way.

If you are lucky enough to know your role model, ask them to mentor you. This will help you to gain all your skills of your role model through them being your mentor. Before you know it, you will have all the tools you need to build up your expertise.

As I mentioned before, this could not be a comfortable journey to go through alone, so having someone to help you is an excellent idea.
