"Open your eyes when I say so."
"..."
"Eyes closed, noona, I can see you peeking."
"...."
"Can I open them now?"
"No."
"...what about now?"
"Not yet."
".................Kookie? what about now?"
A tiny mewl responded her at the same time that a small, furry, wriggling body was placed in her lap.
"Kook?"
Meow.
Lisa's eyes flew wide open, her jaw hanging as the little grey kitten mewled and burrowed against her stomach, seeking warmth.
Jungkook sat cross-legged opposite her, grinning widely. "Do you like him?"
Lisa was speechless. She gingerly picked up the kitten, cradling it in her arms as it snuffed and nuzzled against her front, its little ears twitching. It sneezed and Jungkook thought he'd pass out from the cuteness.
Lisa seemed to be just as affected.
"Jungkook....how...what...it's for me?" she managed at last through a strangled whisper.
"Yep," Jungkook nodded happily, "Jimin hyung's cat Calico had a litter weeks ago and I know you love animals so....he's your second present, noona."
Lisa simply rocked her kitten, crooning and cooing as she prodded at its face and the kitten tried to bite her finger. It was quite a feisty thing because soon it was trying to escape Lisa's hold.
"He's perfect, I love him!" Lisa beamed. Her eyes glistened. "Ah Kookie, you really want to make me cry today!"
"It's only a kitten noona," he chuckled, "what are you going to name him?"
Lisa considered his question, squeezing her eyes shut and pressing her lips tightly in fierce concentration.
"Leo."
She giggled when the kitten slipped fluidly out of her arms and she slid down on her stomach on the floor to be level with the little creature. "Like a lion, because he's gonna grow up big and strong and brave as a lion."
"I like it," Jungkook smiled. Lisa had transitioned to kissing Leo's pink nose, giggling when he tried to back away and stumbled over his shaky legs. Leo soon regained his footing and started to chase Lisa's finger as she trailed it in front of him.
"So who wants a piece of cake?" Jungkook's mother announced as she came into the room bearing a plate with an array of pastries spread on it.
Jungkook and Lisa immediately scrambled up and bickered over which chair they were going to sit on as they reached out eagerly to sample the fancy pastries.
"This might be a little sweeter since it has jam, it's Black Forest," Jungkook's mother explained, "this is a chocolate gateau, this is a peach custard flan, that's a banoffee, this one is a whiskey slice—"
"Whiskey slice please!" Lisa almost fell out of the chair as she stood up on edge in her eagerness. She impatiently swiped her long ponytail over her shoulders. "Can I Aunty?"
"You won't get drunk," Jungkook reminded with a smirk, "I'd like the chocolate gateau please."
Lisa pouted. "Kookie! What if I don't like the whiskey one? Chocolate is my favourite you know."
"Well then you should have chosen it before the whiskey slice then," Jungkook said smugly. Lisa pouted.
"You have no respect for your noona, I'm older than you remember!"
