Gage

I can't believe Ashlyn ran away with Phoebe that quick. Kade and I had planned on taking her to the office and walking her to her first class before she got pulled away. We wanted to know what her schedule looked like so one of us could be outside of her classes when they let out, but now we had no way of knowing. Neither one of us had asked for her number after everything yesterday and Derick wouldn't give it to us.

"Come on man. I don't think she will care if you give us her number" I complained.

"No Gage. If she wanted you to have it you would" was the only reply I got.

"We just forgot to ask yesterday. Please man." Kade says giving it a try as we walk towards our first class of the day.

"No." Derick says simply.

"Fine." We both huff out at the day time without meaning too. It only takes us a couple of minutes to reach our classroom and we walk into it. I did not want to sit through this science class. But I changed my mind quickly when I saw the majority of our class gathered around one of the lab tables talking excitedly. I knew they had to be surrounding Phoebe. She was the first new student we had enroll since third grade.

As we got closer to the group, I looked around at the people surrounding her and cleared my throat.

"Excuse me. Can everyone back up? I'm sure the girl would like some space to breathe." I say loudly when I notice how overwhelmed Phoebe is. The look on my face must have showed my annoyance because people started to move immediately. I took the seat to her right and Kade quickly slide into the one to her left just as the last bell chimed.

"Thank you. Everyone bombarded me at once." She sighs and visibly relaxes a little.

"You are big news princess" I reply looking at her. "We haven't had a new student for a long time."

"That would explain it" she replies almost sarcastically.

"Class, be quite please so I can begin with today's lesson." Our teacher, Mrs. Dunmoore, says.

"Today we will be splitting back into our lab groups to preform a couple of experiments. Phoebe, we work in groups of three for experiments usually and the only group that is lacking a partner is the twins; you may work with them until I assign new groups in a couple of weeks" she continues.

"Okay." Phoebe replies quickly before Mrs. Dunmoore goes over what she wants us to do.

As we begin working on our lesson, Mrs.Dunmoore circulates around the room and stops at our table.

"How are you doing Phoebe? I'm not sure what topics you had covered at your old school and I don't want to throw you in without help." She asks.

"We has actually just finished this subject, so I'm okay right now. Thank you." Phoebe replies sweetly and the teacher walks away.

"What's your class schedule baby." Kade whispers lowly so no one hears his pet name for her. As she recites her schedule we both smile.

"We have our next class together. I'll walk you to it" I say happily.  "And then we both get to see you at lunch and for third period."

"And I can walk you to fourth. We have that class." Kade says when I get done.

"So basically one of you will always be with me." She says in a flat voice.

"Yes. Does that bother you?" I ask with worry apparent in my voice.

"No. I just don't know how I feel about being around y'all 24/7. I mean you practically live at the house." She answers.

"Princess. We will give you time to yourself. Just tell us to go away when you get tired of us." I say trying to reassure her.

"Okay." She replies and ends the conversation by turning back to the assignment.

We made it through the next two classes without any issues. I made sure to give Phoebe a chance to talk to other students but I didn't hear a word any teacher said because I was to busy watching her. She could talk to anyone and make them smile. Ashlyn seemed to have taken to Phoebe as quickly as we had. The teachers loved her because even if she was behind in their class she flourished with the lessons they handed her.

When lunch came, I thought she might sit with another group but I was pleasantly surprised when I walked up and she was seated next to Kade. Her and Ashlyn were chatting away about homecoming coming up as I took the other seat beside her.

"It's Thursday. There is a big pep rally the day before and then we have a bonfire after it gets dark. The bonfire is a tradition! Everyone goes! You have to come with us! Oh and the dance is Friday night. We can go dress shopping later this week. My mom owns a boutique in town, we can get our dresses there." Ashlyn blurts out as fast as she can.

"Um I have a couple dresses from dances in the past, I might just wear one of those if I decide to go to the dance at all. They aren't really my thing. Plus I don't have a date. But I will gladly go with you to help you pick one out if you want me to" Phoebe says politely.

"You have to come to the dance! It's a chance to get to know everyone. I have seen more than one guy flirt with you today. I'm sure you will have a line of people waiting to dance with you. Please I'm begging." Ashlyn says while pouting her lip out.

"Phoebe, we will take you to the dance if you want to go."I say as the thought of another guy touching her hits me. "We will also take you to the bonfire."

"Yeah, we would love too." Kade follows up quickly.

"See! Look now you have two dates!" Ashlyn says happily bobbing up and down.

"I guess. But only if you two didn't have other dates. I'm not being the reason someone gets stood up." She says.

"We don't" I answer as I place my hand on her knee under the table and run it slightly upwards, causing her to snap her thighs together and trapping my hand between them.

"Then I'll go. And I'll ask my mom if I can get a new dress." She says through gritted grabbing my forearm under the table and squeezing it.

"Good." Is my reply as I slowly slide my hand out from where she has it trapped with a smirk. The bell rings just a few minutes later signaling that it's time to go to the last class of the day. I head off towards mine as Kade walks off beside Phoebe.

I'm ready for Thursday and Friday to be here already.
