Although I first came up with the idea of the Protectors arc after writing Hollies this Time Lady was set back in favor of my excitement for Hollie's story.

I first came up with the idea after thinking about how the series would go if a Time Lady and the Doctor were not best friends, a lot of the fics I have read they are or very quickly become best friends, I can't remember reading any (to my knowledge because my brain is a siv at times) where the OC hates the Doctor and they very, very slowly grow a friendship, if you think the Doctor and the Stones slow-burning was annoying just you wait until you read THIS series of mine because boy it's worse but it's SO going to be worth it.

We don't meet the First to Eighth Protectors but we do know she is currently in her Ninth incarnation, as for her life before the Time war Athaelia had a quite privileged childhood for a young Gallifreyan in the Academy. Her parents were wealthy, she had many tutors for all her subjects and was promised a place on a high council. A place she didn't actually want.

Even from a young age Athaelia just wanted to be left alone, to see the wonders of the Universe as they were, she thought the Universe and everything in it was beautiful, from the twin suns of Gallifrey to the stars she would see in the sky. The young Gallifreyan wanted to observe in peace and help maintain the beauty.

Athaelia soon learned her task of keeping everything as it should be was going to be difficult when she met the two young Gallifreyan friends, Theta (Th-e-ta) Sigma and Koschei (Kosh-j-eye), the troublesome two as she liked to call them.

Athaelia grew to have an unusual 'friendship' with the two Gallifreyans. Theta slowly became a rival the girl grew to dislike more and more rather than a friend while Koschei definitely formed an unlikely friendship with Athaelia.

After becoming a Time Lady Athaelia (who took on the title 'The Protector') didn't hear much from Koschei (now the Master) who had started locking himself away, Athaelia slowly began to dislike Theta (now going by the Doctor) even more, the two becoming more like enemies as the days went on.

That was until the Doctor disappeared off Gallifrey with his grandaughter while Athaelia stayed on Gallifrey, only leaving to put the Universe back on track when something came up, hoping to destroy it but then the Time War came and Athaelia knew she couldn't Protect everything.
