Slivery moonlight broke through the branches, claiming everything within its reach. Kasper and Ginger moved quietly in the cover of the brush.

Kasper lead the way marking here and there as he went.Ginger watched him quietly as she followed him, only to glance behind herself once to see the house. That of which  she couldn't really call home, disappear little  by little before it was only a glimpse in the distance.

Ginger's stomach interrupted her thoughts. Kasper brushed his tail over her signaling her to stop."You must be hungry," Kasper meowed acknowledging her situation as another rumble erupted."We are almost there. You are welcome to eat and rest at my place since, we have been walking for quite some time."

Kasper meowed flicking his tail a few more fox bounds over onto what looked like a hollowed out den of a fox burrow inside an old tree trunk. "Let's go." he meowed as he bounded into the brush with Ginger at his tail.

A familiar dog-like scent hit her nose, it was faint but she recognized the scent had belonged to the wild red wolf dog named Garnet who used to be someone's pet but he ran away because they were brutal to him always making him fight with the other dogs they had; leaving him mentally and physically scarred so he ran away.

He came to a quick and sudden halt, she almost bumped into him skidding to a halt just outside the entrance to his burrow. Ginger sniffed her surroundings taking in the overwhelming smell of the forest.

"Go in and make yourself comfortable," Kasper flicked his head toward his burrow. He watched as Ginger sniffed around sliding down into the burrow kicking up red dust as she went;making a makeshift nest with what was inside, noticing a pile of reindeer moss nearby she added that to her nest until she was comfortable.

Kasper watched his green eyes glowing in the shadows."Stay here. I'll be right back." He meowed sternly as he watched her sit on her makeshift nest and look at him with hunger glazing her eyes.

He sniffed the air pinpointing the prey smells and bolted away. Only to return with two deer mice. Ginger watched hungrily as he bounced out of the brush and into the burrow.

The fresh smell of the prey emitting off of the mice filled her nostrils making her mouth water.

"Here. One for you and one for me, since your my guest I decided on catching you one," he mewed his voice muffled by the prey as he dropped them at her feet."I'm certain you never had this kind of mouse before so eat up." he took his mouse and quickly ate his  in the corner of his burrow, giving her space.

"Thank you, Kasper." Ginger touched it with her nose, it was warm. "Ah. Ginger, its no big deal." he mewed digging into his mouse. She took a small bite, and as she did her eyes sparkled thus unlocking something deep within her soul. "Wow Kasper. It's so tasty."she meowed happily, letting the beast of hunger over take her, devouring the mouse."Glad u like it."He purred as he began to clean himself.

Ginger finished her mouse, savoring every bit as it hit her tastebuds. "So u live here?" she meowed questioningly as she too cleaned her face with her paws.

"Yeah, I have the honor of sharing my turf with one of the six neighbouring clan cats called Lightningclan. I'm sure you heard of them from your mother before she left." he mewed rasping  a damp paw over his ears as he sat up wrapping his tail around his legs.

"Hmm, I believe she has but it's very vague." Ginger tried to flip through her memories, trying to find the image where she was a kit and her mother had held her close whispering of tales of the forest cats.

"Well, you'll meet them soon. It's late get some rest." he mewed interrupting her thoughts as he kneaded his nest  before falling his eyes. Ginger did the same letting sleep over take her senses, sending her into a blissful sleep.
