"Damn it cas! You're supposed to be the one to save us! Not the other way around!"
Dean yelled at the top of his lungs as he ran towards castiel. The smoke of the building made it hard to breath and see. He ran faster when he didn't hear cas responed to him. But it didn't matter how fast he ran, the fire was faster. Dean wondered how this hunt went south so fast. One minute him and cas were killing demons, the next thing he knew the house they were in bursted into blazing flames. And castiel wasn't by his side. He continued to yell until he heard a small quiet voice call out his name. "Dean..please...go. save yourself. Get out..." Those words made Dean's heart hurt. He couldn't leave castiel to die alone. He couldn't let cas die period. Dean searched and searched until he finally saw a figure lying in a pile of rubbish. He recognized the trenchcoat right off the bat. "Hold on cas! Im coming!" Dean yelled but it was getting harder to talk. Waves of dizziness washed over him, but he couldn't pass out. Not until his angel was saved. Dean found his way over to the unconscious ex-angel. "Sonofabitch!" He thought out loud as he picked castiel up bridal style and made his way out of the burning house.
Finally he reached fresh air. He inhaled it like pie. It never felt so good to breath. But he still had someone to save. " I've got you cas. Dont worry everything is gonna be okay. Just hang in there." Dean mumbled to himself knowing that castiel couldn't hear him. He was trying so hard to believe the words that came out of his mouth. As he gently laid cas in thebackseat of the impala, he felt something on his hands. Shit! Dean thought to himself. There was blood all over his hands and castiels chest. Quickly and gently as possible, he made a makeshift bandage so that the bleeding would hopefully stop. The next half hour was a blur to dean. Racing down the highway to get to the motel where sam was. He made a 30 minute trip in 15.
"What th-" sam got cut off by Dean rushing inside with castiel in his arms. They were both covered in ashes and dust. Some minor burns here and there but nothing as bad as the wound that layed across castiels chest. Immediately, he layed castiel on one of the cheap motel beds and began to strip castiel from his singed shirt. This is totally not gay. At all. Im just helping my bud here. Not gay. I repeat not gay. Dean thought as his face became warm with blush. But that didn't matter. His friend was in trouble and he had to do something fast. He sent Sam off to get some supplies as he cleaned the cut. It wasn't deadly deep but it was deep enough to get stitches. "Here. Need anything else?" Sam handed Dean the first aid box and watched as Dean got out the anti-infective. Castiel started to stir as senses came back to him. Fire. Pain. Numbness. Dean? Those thoughts swam through his head until he got enough strength to open his eyes. Suddenly a violent pain shot through his chest and he was trying to get up. Panic filled his eyes as he tried to understand what was going on.
"Woah woah, cas calm down. Its just me. Dean. You gotta calm down so i can do this..." Dean found himself having to gently push cas down back in the bed and stroke his hair until castiel finally calmed down. "Now this is gonna sting like a sonofabitch not gonna lie. So uh, sit tight and I'll go as fast as possible." He wasn't gonna lie. It was going to sting. But he needed castiel to be aware of what he was doing. Few whines and grunts later, cas' cut was cleaned. Now was the painful part. Stitches. "I hate to do this, i really do, but I have gotta stitch it up. K? I need to relax and breath. Ready?" Castiel nodded approval and Dean got to work. He started working effectively and gently as he started to first stitch. During one of the stitches, he accidentally poked a little to hard and castiels body jerk as tears formed in his blue eyes. "Shit- sorry man! I won't do that again. Need a break?" Dean stopped stitching and rubbed castiels arm for hopefully some comfort. "No...continue..." castiels voice was tight with pain and rough. So Dean continued. He stopped whenever castiel let out a soft pained noise. Sam left Dean to work in peace as he left for the library. "Shh...shh... how bout this cas, after were done with stitches and everything, we can just sorta...I don't know...maybe watch a movie or show of your choice?" He was trying to avoid the whole chickflic moment and using the word snuggle. "That...would be...delightful." he let outa soft sigh and nodded for Dean to continue.
"Annnnddd...done! Voila, your stitches are over with!" Dean leaned back and stretched his arms. "Now how about we watch that movie i promised?" He gave his usual smirk and gently moved castiel to a more comfortable position. Cas stayed silent until Dean moved over beside him on the bed. "Can we watch...hmm..Dr.sexy?" Cas mumbled softly. "You got great taste Cas! I appreciate that." Dean was so happy he raised Cas to like such great things. An hour into watching Dr.sexy, cas leaned his head on Deans shoulder and let out a content sigh. He closed his eyes and let the peaceful darkness of sleep take over. He was safe with Dean Winchester. He just knew it. Dean knew he was sleeping the moment his head touched his shoulder. He didn't care how much of a chickflic this was, he just cared that his angel was safe and sound. After a while, he let himself fall asleep. Listening to castiels soft sighs and the warmth and comfort of his body. That was the best sleep Dean Winchester had in his whole life. 5 hours later, sam came home. He smiled and let them sleep as he went of to bed in the other motel room.
