Chapter 13: Old Friends

Three weeks later

Zane, Max, and I were hanging out in the park today.

"So, what were you doing before you came here?" Zane asks Max.

"Practicing my mind reading mostly," she says, smiling.

"Hey, who are they?" I ask, pointing to a group of four walking toward us. They walked away from the setting sun, so we couldn't see their faces.

Max squinted. "Is that...It can't be...?"

The group come into view and I finally get a good look at them.

The first girl was a human. She had dark red eyes, black hair, and wore a silver chain around her waist like a belt. She was wearing a short, slim black dress and long black high-heel boots. She looked incredibly stylish.

The boy next to her was a meifwa. He had black hair and purple eyes. One of his ears was pierced, and he had a spiky collar. He looked stylish also, but in an emo-like way. They looked like siblings.

The next two were definitely twins. They both had beautiful blonde hair. The girl had yellow werewolf ears and a tail with green tips. She was wearing bright purple eye shadow that complemented her aquamarine eyes. She wore a red shirt with a black leather jacket over it, ripped jeans, and matching black high-heeled boots.

The boy twin's hair was smooth and amazing. His aquamarine eyes were scrutinizing, like he was analyzing us. He wore a leather jacket and black jeans, like his sister. He also wore a spiky collar and an earring on one of his blonde meifwa ears, which also had green tips.

They all moved in unison, with the girls slightly ahead, leading.

"It can't be...Cole? Eli?" Max asks, standing up.

The two dark-haired people smile and hug Max.

"Long time no see," The girl says.

"It's been awhile," The boy says.

They pull away.

"Who are the newbies?" Max asked.

"Oh, that's Jayden and Carson," The girl- Eli- said, pointing behind her.

My eyes widen. "Jayden? Carson? No way."

Jayden smiled. "Took you long enough to recognize us Alpha."

Carson nudged her. "You're not in her pack anymore Jay."

I run over and hug Jayden. Zane walked over and high-fived a surprised Carson.

"Woah, who broke Emo Boy?" he asked.

Zane and I roll our eyes.
