Chapter 3

When I got home I rushed to the restroom nervous as a dear in head god damn lights. I didn't read the instructions on the packaging and directly peed on the stick drowning it with urine. Nevertheless I waited for three miserable minutes to pass.

Negative!

The pregnancy test was negative. Sweet Jesus I was happy.

I started spotting after that and became concern so I bought a different pregnancy test that week and to my surprise in two minutes after placing the urine in the recepter the big plus sign was steering me right in the eyes. I fell to my knees in shock.... I cried the entire day.
That night I called Francis and told him that his intuition about me being pregnant was correct. He immediately said to me, "I think you should do an abortion!"
That was the last conversation I had with Francis.

But going to see a doctor was my next option just to be a 100% sure.
So I made the appointment for the following week. During all this Francis was nowhere to be seen. Why was he behaving in such a strange manner.

*The following week*

I arrived at the doctors office and approached the receptionist to notify her of my arrival. She handed me paper work to complete and directed me to be seated in the waiting area. After taking a seat I completed the paper work and returned it to her. I lazily walked back to my seat and waited patiently for fifteen minutes.

"Annie Jonas!"

I immediately stood up and strolled over to the nurse that called my name. She took the necessary data needed before I went in to see the doctor.

The doctor welcomed me with a genuine smile and as I took a seat he introduced himself.

"Hi I'm doctor Ray Notice, what brings you to my office today?"

"Well Doc I believe I might be pregnant so I decided to come in and have you confirm that it is so"

He then asked me, " When was your last menstral cycle and does your cycle come at the same time every month?"

" It last came July 31 and yes it comes the same time every month."

Afterwards he examined me and gave me a clear container to pass some urine in. After passing urine in the container, I brought it back to Dr. Notice. He then went into a cabinet that was to the right of his office and browsed through some packages. I carefully watched him, only to see him grab a pregnancy test and put on a pair of gloves.
He carefully placed some of the urine on the pregnancy test and placed it on his desk.

"Now Ms. Jonas your quite young, what do you plan on doing once I confirm this pregnancy?" He looked at me with concerned eyes.

I thought to myself for a moment and remembered what Francis had told me... I could do an abortion and forget it ever happened. I looked down.....

"I.... an abortion! The father wants me to do it. He doesn't want this baby"
I blurted out and unleashed Niagara falls from my eyes.

Doctor Notice sighed heavily and walked over to me bringing with him a box of tissue. He handed them to me and looked me directly in the eyes. He then said something to me that I didn't think of.

"Ms. Jonas.... Do you have family members that will support you? If so I strongly recommend that you keep this baby."

"Yes... I do."

"Then you have nothing to worry about. You and the baby will be okay."

He returned to his desk to take a look at the pregnancy test.

"Well Ms. Jonas the test is positive and base on the time that you told me you last saw your period, your four months pregnant."

This felt like a nightmare and I was ready to wake up from it.

Shortly after that I finished up with Dr. Notice. While on my way home I was worried what my adopted mother's reaction would be. Holy Mary of Jesus she is going to kill me.... Breath Annie, breath... I took some deep breaths. Let me not think like that, I have to tell her as she is going to find out once my belly begins to show.
As I got home I quickly showered, went to my room and cried myself to sleep.
