The next day I went and visited my biological mom and told her about everything my adopted mom had come up with. At first she was sadden that she wouldn't be able to see me as often, but happy I'd be starting a new life for the baby and I. I told her she could come and visit me as often as she wants.
I spent two days with her, as I knew I'd be leaving for Seattle soon. She cooked all my favorite foods, not to mention I was craving a lot of coconut and so she stuffed me with that too. I feel so blessed to have two moms who love and care for me so dearly. Despite not having any support for Francis, I feel happy because both my moms came together to support my well being. As having a baby won't be easy. Two Weeks Later.
It was 2:30 pm, sitting by the window seat watching as the plane taxied towards the runway, came to a halt as the engine picked up speed and the plane jetted off speedily. I held on to my armrest and braced myself for take off with my eyes tightly shut. Before I knew it the plane ascended into the air and kept climbing higher to a steady altitude. It would take 7 hrs 58 mins from Jamaica to Seattle, so I made myself as comfortable as possible with a navy blue neck pillow, eye mask and small blanket. Before I knew it, I was knocked out and deep into sleep.
I woke up to the soothing voice of the captain over the intercom, announcing our arrival at the Seattle-Tacoma International airport in would be in 10 minutes. My nerves started to kick as nervousness and excitement took over my body. I quickly used the bathroom before the seat belt sign was on and rushed back to my seat for the landing.
The landing was smooth and as the plane taxied to the gate, the sound of seat belts being unclasped echoed throughout the plane.
Going through immigration was a breeze. I got a cab, told him the address for the apartment and we were off. It was late at night as we cruised through the city and unto the highway. The ride to the apartment was short due to no traffic. I paid the cab driver, he assisted me with my suitcases to the reception area of the apartment. I thanked him then he left. I made my way to the receptionist desk."Hi, I'm Annie Jonas. Collecting my apartment keys."
"Good night Ms. Jonas, we've been expecting you. " The receptionist said with a pleasant smile on her face.
She went into a draw below her desk, reached in and then handed me a brown envelop with my name on it, which held the apartment keys.
She then said to me, "Your on the 18th floor, apartment 218. My name is Clair Harris, if you need anything just let me know and I'll handle it for ya."
"Thank you, I'll definitely give you a call if I need help with anything."
"Your welcome Ms. Jonas."
"Please call me Annie."
She smiled again with a curt nod and directed me to the elevator.
I got into the elevator with all my luggage, and hit the 18th floor button.
"Ding" the elevator doors slid open and I was off down the hall in search of apartment 218.
It was at the end of the hall. I unlocked the door, stepped in and turned the lights on. Not bothering to take in my surroundings, I was focused on taking a shower and heading straight to bed. I looked for the master bedroom, from there I discarded of my clothes and took a warm shower. All I can remember after showering and air drying my body was walking straight to the bed and getting under the sheets naked. I fell into a peaceful slumber, not remembering that I had nothing to eat.
The next morning a grumbling noise woke me up.
"Oh shit! I cant believe I forgot to eat." I said out aloud to myself. I groaned opening my eyes as I knew it wasn't healthy for the baby.
The sun light was so bright and I made a mental note to make sure I close them before going to bed tonight. My room was white with minimal furnishing. A big king size bed, two night stands which had a dark brown colour, a television on the wall that was positioned to face the bed, and I had a big window with navy blue curtains.I went straight to the bathroom as I needed to relieve myself. The bathroom was big. It had a walk in shower that had huge black marble tiles from ceiling to floor, and a glass that separated it from the rest of the bathroom. Adjacent to the shower was a egg shaped charcoal grey tub by the window, and a double vanity, with a nice size mirror.
I finished my business, and flushed. I washed my hands brushed my teeth, and took a quick shower.Going back into the room I went to my suitcase and picked out a black jeans, a wine red button up long sleeve top, and sneakers. I put my hair in a ponytail, and gave myself a look of approval. I grabbed my phone, keys and purse and went through the door.
