"did you get the uh....the fucking uh..chips?" i asked jahseh through the phone. "it depends, what chips are you talking about?" he asked. this nigga. "the tortilla chips boy" i said. "ohhhhh, no i ain't get those" he said. "get the CHIPS!" i shouted. "is it really that important?" he asked. "neeger the fricking sixth season of our show is coming on" i said.
"all of our friends are legit coming over to watch that shit with us, do you know how many people that is?" i asked. "like ten" he said. "fourteen counting us and the kids, plus your friends eat insanely large amounts" i said. "no they don't" he said. "lies and i promised that food will be there just so stokeley would show up" i said.
"that fatass" jahseh said. "they might even bring their kids, they around yume's age anyway" i said. it got silent for a moment then i heard some key rattling. "alright imma go to the store and get the shit" he said. "okay baby" i said. "i love you" he said. "love you too" i said. he hung up and i parked my car at the daycare center. i got out the car and went up to the daycare door.
my keys jiggled when i walked and i seen my baby snap her head towards me. "mommy!!" she said getting up and running up to me. i picked her up and put her on my waist, then signed her out. i walked us back outside and she climbed in the backseat. she sat herself in her carseat and fastened herself.
she began telling me about her day. "and then there was this new kid and he wasn't very nice, but his mommy loved me" she said cheesing. "that's great baby, wanna talk to daddy?" i asked her. "YES!" she screamed. i tapped on the car screen and pressed the phone icon. i dialed his number and waited for him to answer.
"hello" he said and his voice carried throughout the car and probably outside too. "DADDY, HEYYYY" she screamed. "hey xi (zee)" he said back. you could tell he was smiling. "daddy guess what" she said. "what?" he asked. then they began 'spilling tea' to each other, but i had to interrupt. "daddy, lani said that uncle sto-" xi started. "baby, where did g say he was going?" i asked.
"he said he was going to hang out with friends" he said back. "nuh uh, g said he was going to his girlfriend's house" xi said snitching. "that little bastard" jahseh said mumbling. "what's a bastard?" xi asked. "a fatherless child" jahseh said. "but daddy, you're big brother's daddy too" xi said. "i know but mommy might kill me" he said. "no she won't, i'll protect you" she said.
"thank you baby, but i got to handle this one on my own" he said. "okay daddy" she said. "baby, let me call that boy real quick" i said. "alright" he said. "tell daddy you'll see him later" i told xi. "see you later daddy" she said. "okay, love you both" he said. "we love you too." i hung up then called g. it rung four times then he answered the phone.
"hey momma" he said. "shut up, where you at?" i asked. "my friend's house" he said nervously. "which one?" i asked. "uh, look ma don't get mad" he said. "where. are. you.?" i asked. "iyani's house" he said. "i'm coming to get you and when you get home leave your phone on my dresser" i said. "ma-" he started. i hung up. "ooooou he in troubleee" xi sang.
"girl hush" i said laughing. i pulled up to iyani's house and beeped the horn. after a minute g came out and tried to sit in the back. "uhn uh, sit up here in the front" i said he rolled his eyes and came to passenger side. i waited for him to put his seatbelt on then backed out of her driveway. i turned off the radio and drove slowly back to the house.
"gekyume jahseh onfroy, you think you grown?" i asked. "no, but-" he started. "uhn uh, none of that" i said. he closed his mouth. "why you told your father that you were hanging out with friends?" i asked. "because i knew he would've said no if i told him i was going over iyani's house" he said. "were her parents home?" i asked. he stayed silent and looked out the window. "damnit boy, what were you doing over there?" i asked.
"you know what i was doing" he mumbled. "you know what, let ask you something" i said. he looked at me. "you like kids?" i asked. "frick no" he said. "your father didn't either" i said. "mom what?" he asked. i pulled up to the house and parked. i looked in the backseat and seen xi sleep. i shook her leg, "babygirl" i sang. "come on pooh wake up" i said.
she opened her eyes and looked around. she gasped. "BIG BROTHER!" she screamed. he turned to look at her. "hey xi" he said. i turned off the car and got out. g went up to the door and unlocked it with his key. i got xi out the backseat and closed the car door. i locked the car and walked into the house.
"don't think i forgot, put that phone on my dresser" i said. "momma" he said. "gekyume, i'm not saying it again" i said putting xi down. he sighed and walked into my room. he came back out and went upstairs. "GET READY FOR TONIGHT BOY" i shouted so he could hear me. "YES MA'AM" he shouted back.
"babygirl, go upstairs and put on that outfit on your bed okay" i said to xi. "okay mommy" she said then ran off to her room. the front door opened revealing my husband carrying six bags of chips. "hey" he said. i nodded my head at him. "you mad?" he asked. "yes, i'm mad" i said. "he said he was hanging with his friends okay i didn't know that wasn't the case" he said.
"always ask which friends, if he can't provide an answer he can't go" i told him. "i didn't know that, my momma didn't do that with me, no one did" he said sitting the chips down in the kitchen. "baby i know, which is why i'm here, i'm a parent too if you need help with certain things or have questions call" i said. "alright" he said walking up to me. i gave him a hug and he pecked my forehead.
"i love you" i said. "i love you too, now get in the kitchen, the show starts at 8" he said.
