chapter 5 'ready or not'

The music was loud i couldn't quite figure out the song but from the beat i think it was Disturbed's "dehumanized", as she parked the car i opened the door an yes there it was the powerful voice of David Draidman the lead singer.

"if i offered you my soul would you carry me away, i cannot be the only one to be dehumanized again......" hmmmmmm i loved this song for some reason its speaks to me.

'The rest of the them are by our usual spot by the saaman tree, come on', Venus said as she took hold of my elbow leading me towards the forest.

'Urgh, will you stop dragging I'm perfectly capable of walking without help i told her while tugging my hand but her grip was like vise.

Not even bothering to stop "i know the way like the back of my hand if you would stop struggling and walk with me you'd be fine" she countered.

Rolling my eyes at her i lifted my chin and tried to match her strides which was impossible due to her legs being really long,"would you at least slow down ia bit not everyone has legs that go all the way to there armpitts" saying as i dug my heels in to make her stop.

"what? no one told you to be a pixie"

"i am not that small' i exclaimed "you shouldn't call people names when you're bigger than all the girls i know in fact all the girls i know and you rival the guys.'

Scoffing an shrugging her shoulders "well sweetheart, we all can't be pint sized some of us  has to be able to protect the fairer sex from the things that hide in the dark and lurk in the shadows" as soon as the words left her lips the bush rustled an i pressed myself into her side.

If I had looked up I'd have seen the smirk on her face and the mischief in her eyes but i was too busy following the sounds in the bushes.

"Don't tell me your afraid of a little rustle in the bushes, it could just be a squirrel" she said laughing.

Pushing away from her I rolled my eyes at her "no i am not but there are things out here that would harm me and i'd rather not end up on the six o'clock news, i could see it now ...............while out in the forest with friends a young girl was mauled by a bear or eaten by wolves the forensics team has yet to release the information to the public" i think not " scoffing.

"please its been years since we had an animal attack here, but we do have a lot of sightings of wolves" she replied trying to keep in her laughter but i saw her lips quirk.

Just as i was about to say something the bush behind me rustled an a huge figure jumped with a growl and i had to admit i screamed and practically jumped into Venus's arms which was surprisingly strong as they caught me.

 As my heart calmed an i noticed that nothing was attacking us i heard the laughter an opened my eyes to see Arikos on the ground rolling laughing his heart out, that's when i felt the arms that held me shake. Son-of-a-bitch i squirmed for her to let me go but she tightened her arms "put me down you progeny of Loki so i can go an bash in your little pawn " saying as i struggled but she let me feet touch the ground but didn't let me go but held me around the waist.

Even in the midst of me wanting to bash Arikos head in i couldn't help but notice her laughter, thats when i realise that this was the only time i heard her laugh.

I felt her breath on my neck as she whispered in my ear "so violent lil one, i wonder if you'd be as feisty when your turned on" her voice was pitched so low it tugged on some strings within my body that made me shiver.

Snorting " wouldn't you like to know" i retorted an let my body go limp and slipped through her arms an rolled away heading to the still laughing boy on the ground. Before he noticed that i was coming i jumped on him and playfully punched him in the chest "if you ever do that to me again i will personally see to it that you never make any children again and make your life a living hell" saying in my most menacing voice.

Putting his hands up "ok ok "laughter still strong in his voice.

After the scare on Soteria we made our way to the rest of the guys and i was surprised to see her a bit relaxed and enjoying herself. There she was in the midst of my pack enjoying herself. i wonder she would do if she knew she was surrounded by wolves?.

I must say that the gathering turned out better than i thought it would,

>>why are we not with our mate?we should be the one she is smiling up at not our resident Casanova<<Silver's voice broke through my thoughts 

.>>i want her to be comfortable enough within our group, i want her to know us on a normal level plus Kalen would mot even go there if he values his family jewels sending a mental pic to him of what I'd do if he tried to steal my mate<<. I saw him flinch and raise his hands in surrender while whispering something to Soteria.

Her head shaked and she looked over her shoulder giving me a shy smile before turning back to the convosation.

>>go to her now i wish to drown myself in her scent an its been a long time since I've felt her in my arms<< she replied as if i never even spoken.

>>pushy much?<<

growling at me >>if it wasn'st for the restraints you have on me I;d of had her or at least tasted her already one of these days your going to appreciate my methods<< saying as i felt her flex beneath my skin.

>>not now silver she is not ready as yet we need to give her time though she is working out that I'm not giving up we just have to be a lil bit more patient<<sighing a bit.

>>to much time is wasting and its not in my nature to wait for anything, do you remember our first hunt when you first learned my name?<< 

The memory was never far from my mind >>yes i do, that was the day i got the mark of 'alpha' at the tender age of nine that i shifted that night as well had my father in a tizzy for its tradition that 'alphas shift  when they start going into puberty<<

>>true but we're strong, i have yet to show you the things i am capable in time we shall be know for our strength<< she said in a voice that was final.
