As soon as their hands touched Alex felt tingles and then a shot of electricity flew up her arm into her whole body. They both gasped and dropped their hands. Trevor cleared his throat and then laughed. "I must of picked up some static on the way over."

"Yeah that must be it." She smiled. "Um...I...was just about to head inside to get something to drink. Would you like to come in?" Oh my god, I sound like a complete moron. Trevor gave a heart stopping smile. "I would love to, lead the way." Alex's brain had completely frozen at that smile. She just nodded her head and walked towards the house. He smells so good! What is that cologne he is wearing? It was like the smell of linen drying in the sun with a mix of pine forest. Alex couldn't resist taking in a deep breath through her nose.

They walked into the kitchen and Alex was about to introduce him, when he spoke. "Owen...Shirley it is so good to see you again!"

"Mr.Black how are you?" Owen shook his hand.

"Call me Trevor, we have known each other for a long time Owen."

"Um...Trevor, we were just about to have lunch would you like to join us?" Shirley sounded almost nervous.

"I would love to, thank you."

I watched the exchange with curiosity. For people that knew each other they sure seemed uncomfortable. Just another thing to add to the list that I wanted to talk to Shirley about.

"Well grab a chair Trevor and we will enjoy this wonderful food that Shirley has made." I gave him a big smile. "What would you like to drink?"

"Beer if you have it Alex." The sound of my name coming from his lips makes me wanna purr. Stop it! What is wrong with you?! No more men! Remember?!

"Beer it is! I think I'll have one too, what about you Owen?"

"Yes mam that will be fine. You know Shirley she has to have her ice tea." He laughed.

Lunch was great. Once again 'Shirley The Master' had made a great meal. We all laughed and talked. Owen told stories about when Trevor was little and the pranks he pulled. Then Trevor seemed to stop for a minute as if he was in a daze and he had a small frown on his face. Then it was over and he smiled and everyone started talking again. Was I the only one who noticed it? I was just about to say something when Trevor's phone rang. "I'm sorry please excuse me for a minute." Then he walked away to take the call.

They got up and started clearing the table. "Guys! Didn't you see him space out?" They just glanced at each other, then said no.

"Alex I'm so sorry I have to leave, some business has come up that I have to take care of. I want to thank you for a wonderful afternoon. I hope we will see each other again soon. Perhaps I could persuade you to come to my house sometime in the future."

"It was a pleasure having you. I'm sure we will see each other again Trevor." I couldn't stop myself from grinning and blushing. Woman get ahold of yourself! You are 39 not 17.

Trevor gave a small wave as he walked out the door.

I could not help myself, I had to see her. I tossed and turned all night, all I could think about was her. Just that one small touch had given me an aching need to see her, talk to her and touch her. She was so beautiful, perfect eyebrows, long lashes, full lips, tan skin and the perfect nose. Her hair was a silky black and I couldn't wait until I would get the chance to run my hands through it. But it was her eyes I longed to see the most, the one thing that was kept from me last night. I finally gave up on sleep at 6am and went down and started a pot of coffee. I needed to plan how to approach her.

As I approached the dock, she didn't even seem to notice me, until I jumped up to tie off the boat. I linked Owen. What is wrong with Alex she didn't even hear or see me coming?

She was asking questions about last night and she was really worried about Sammy.

Sammy?! Who the hell is Sammy? I growled.

Her dog.

Now I felt like an idiot. Then I turned to her and cleared my throat. She looked up with a surprised look on her face and stared at me.
She thinks we're sexy, Max said. I couldn't help but smile bigger as I held out my hand and introduced myself. I looked in her eyes and I was spellbound! Her eyes were a deep sparkling brown and her scent, honeysuckle and vanilla, I knew I would never be the same again. When she took my hand I was not prepared for the jolt that passed between us, I had never heard of this happening before, we both dropped our hands. Then I said the first thing that came to mind. Static! Really? I'm so stupid!

I was ecstatic when she invited me in, now I didn't have to go with my lame plan of wanting to see the house. I linked Shirley and Owen as we reached the door, just play along. It started out awkward, but ended up being really great! She has the most beautiful laugh.

He won't tell me, says he needs to speak to you

Fine! Call me on my phone so I can make an excuse to leave! I cut the link and rejoined the conversation. When my phone rang I left the table and stepped outside.

"What the hell is Derek doing there?" I growled lowly.

"He said he would only talk to you and gave me that smartass smirk of his and went into your office."

"Daniel do not leave him alone, I don't trust him, I'll be there in 10 minutes."

I walked back inside to say goodbye. When Alex said my name it sent shivers down my back. Good thing I was leaving or I would probably have grabbed her right then. Max was no help, he kept whining, mate! Claim mate!

Now I had to get to the pack house so I could find out what Derek was up to.
