Hermione's POV:

Kingsley wants us to what?

How does Kinglsley expect Malfoy and I to actually work together? What is he thinking? This is going to be a disaster.

5 minutes earlier...

"You two have been tasked with finding out the culprit behind these attacks and the disappearances of the two students: Robin Powys and Cassandra Cowen. May I remind you that this mission is of the utmost secrecy. We cannot let valuable information into the hands of our enemies. The public already know and are steadily growing more panicked each day. Needless to say, this does not mean you should saunter around in the public eye. Stay close. Stay safe. And most importantly...Stay hidden."

Kingsley reaches into his desk and pulls out a sheaf of files.

"This is your briefing. Read through this thoroughly and report back to me if needed. No-one else can know that you two are investigating this as we must keep the Death Eaters in the dark regarding our plans. I wish you both good luck."

And with that he stood up to leave and motioned towards the door.

"I shall check up on you via patronus to be informed on your success in a few days time.
Oh! And one last thing."

We looked up at him expectantly.

"Don't let your pasts effect your future. I trust that the two of you will set your differences aside for the good of the country. The enitire Wizarding World is counting on you. Don't let me down."

Talk about pressure.

I quickly scan over the documents Kinglsey handed to us. It seems as if, long story short, he wants us to go under the radar and tail a suspicious lead. A suspicious lead with the name of Antonin Dolohov.

Dolohov was one of the few Death Eaters that had escaped after the Battle of Hogwarts. No-one had caught wind of him since and many Aurors speculated that he was biding his time and plotting something truly horrific. Boy, doesn't that sound familiar.

However, yesterday in the early hours of morning Rowle was seen by 2 eye-witnesses kidnapping two Hogwarts students. Of what significance did the two students have? Why go through all the hassle to abduct them? So many questions needing answering.
