Genre: Fluff, extremely light touch of possible angst; martial art students!AU; college!AU
Summary: Uhm, a martial arts au w/ Felix?
A/N: The martial arts aspect is sorta based off my own experiences with Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, and Gumdo, cause I've done them all, so... Yeah. Also, I actually have several parts already written for this, so you guys lemme know if I should continue positing it or not! Here's part 1 then, I guess.☆☆☆
"I can't believe that jerk just though he could grab me like that!" you fumed to your roommate, feeling yourself torn between shock, anger, and tears.
Mina shook her head, the disgust and pity plain on her face. "Yeah... He had one too many bottles of soju. If my brother hadn't shown up when he did, it could have been worse..." She trailed off with a sigh.
You clenched your hands tight, your nails digging into your palms. "I felt so... so helpless... And the way he stood there, smirking at me! Eugh, just thinking about it makes me feel dirty!"
"You know," Mina said slowly, "maybe you should sign up for some martial arts lessons. Its said the more practice you get, the more self-confidence you have, and you'd be less of a target that way, unless the guy was stone drunk. But at least you'd know you could defend yourself."
You let out a slow breath, relaxing your fists a bit. "I dunno... I tried Tae Kwon Do once, but it didn't work out for me."
"You could try Hapkido, then," Mina suggested. "It focuses on defence rather than offence, or even Gumdo or Kendo, with the swords."
"But the swords are kinda impractical now, though, aren't they? And besides," your grumbled, "I'm a foreigner on a very shaky student visa – I'd probably get in trouble for using martial arts."
Mina shook her head, her hair bouncing with the motion. "As long as there's a witness to testify that it was in self defence, you're fine! And even if you do have to go home, you still have those skills to protect yourself with!"
"But I don't like crowds," you added. "Thirty sweaty people crammed together, doing lethal movements and hoping no one hits you on accident, shouting all the while? No thanks!"
"You could try a smaller, family-run studio, maybe in the suburbs instead of here in the big city," Mina suggested.
You gave a slow sigh. "I guess..."
And that was why, one week later, you found yourself walking into a small studio in the outskirts, advertising for Hapkido, Tae Kwon Do, and Gumdo. And why, one hour later, you were walking back out with a crisp black Hapkido uniform and stiff white belt, the numbers in your bank account dropping.

"Okay, how do I tie this..."
You stood off to the side of the studio, by the shoe rack, fumbling with the belt. You'd meant to watch some YouTube how-tos, but combined with school and your own regrettable laziness, you'd just never gotten around to it. You were sorely regretting that decision now.
"Need a hand?" a deep voice asked suddenly, and your head snapped up in surprise.
"Oh, I, uh, don't know how to tie this," you stammered, trying not to stare at the beautiful boy in front of you.
He wore the white uniform of the Tae Kwon Do class, making his sleek – and perfectly tied, you noticed with a ridiculous amount of envy – black belt all the more noticeable. He didn't look much older than you, but at the same time, he gave off an air of quiet confidence. You wondered if that was what Mina had been talking about, and if you really could have it, too.
