Prologue

Wikipedia: Groupie
The term groupie is a slang word in reference to a fan of a particular musician, celebrity, or musical group who follows this person or band around while they are on tour or who attends as many of their public appearances as possible, usually in hopes of getting to know them more. The term is almost universally used to describe young women who follow these individuals in hopes of establishing a sexual relationship with them or offering themselves for sex.

I guess I'll start by explaining something. At the moment there are 3 kinds of groupies, the first one is the traditional groupie.
The traditional groupie is probably the one you know, the one trying to get with the band, following them, partying with them and eventually fucking them, while most don't care about the music but their social status within the scene. The down side to this is that the traditional groupie is temporarily. The band moves on, you move on, eventually all you have is a story about how you fucked a band member, once or twice.
The second kind of groupie is what I call the professional groupie. They may not look or sound like a professional but their goal is to marry a band member. They don't care about the sex, well sure it's a part of it, only the goal is to marry a band member. If a band member somehow decides to settle down and marries a groupie, it always ends in a divorce because the groupie either faked their whole personality or loses interest, for them it's all about the chase.
The last one, the one I aspired to be, the new groupies. This name is because they are more common nowadays, but you might also know them by the name "band-aids", from the movie Almost Famous. Their motive is to follow the music, and as Penny says in Almost Famous "Band Aids, however, are there because of the music. They are there facilitate the creative process." To make the band feel loved. Not there for the sex, but will not say no to it. In contrast with the traditional groupie, this was never the goal. Unlike the professional groupie they realize there will be a moment when the band stops or they will lose interest in the music or people. This new groupie wants to get to know the musicians, what makes them and their music.

This Saturday is different than most, normally I'll be out drinking and partying after work. Today however I couldn't, my dog was just recovering from, I don't know what but he was sick. It's been a couple of days since the festival where I went to see Palaye Royale, the memories I've made there were great! Met some awesome people, chilled and drank some beers. Just as I am doing now. While looking at a couple of pictures and videos on my phone a message pops up.
