A New Infinity

Chapter 5

The kids are all looking at something on the white board. I try to get through the aggressive crowd, but just get rejected to the back. I hear a scream from a girl in the front and then feel people moving back. Then suddenly I feel a hand on the hem of my shirt, "that family should have adopted me not you!" its Summer.

"What?" i say trying to catch my breath.

"On the board it says you will be leaving tomorrow which means you will be adopted!" Summer says. Kids Summers age should not bully kids my age, she's only 14 and I'm 7, half her age.

"Oh, I didn't mean to be adopted, they just did." I say as Summers face turns red.

"Oh, okay, I thought you made them adopt you, its okay then!" she says with evil eyes. Is there a teacher behind me, she would never say that. I walk off and go sit down on my bed.

I just sit there for a few minutes, then a girl about my age walks up to the bed and sits down next to me. She has a fake smile, "hi! My name is Anna!" She has reddish/orangish hair with one blonde streak to the left side of her hair.

"Hi, I'm Hazel!" I say trying to smile. She grabs something out of her pocket.

"I saw the argument with you and Summer, she bullies me too!" she says, "she is going to beat you up, you know, she just didn't want to do it in the middle of a crowd."

"Yeah, but it's okay I'm used to it!" I say looking over at what she has in her hand.

She hands it to me, "my sister gave the necklace to me, when we came here. I am finally getting adopted tomorrow, I wish she was here to get adopted too!" A tear rolled down her face.

"Sorry to ask this Anna, but where is she?" I say frowning.

She looks at me sadly, "my sister had powers, ice powers. My parents went to a crazy house for thinking my sister had ice powers. So they brought us here and the more Elsa got scared, she froze more stuff, but I always comforted her, so she would unfreeze it. Then one day Summer tried to beat up my sister, and Elsa.... froze the room and I tried to make her unfreeze it, so that nobody would know, but it was too late. Nurses and police grabbed her and took her away to do tests and more."

"Oh! I'm sorry Anna! I shouldn't have asked!"

"It's okay." Anna says wiping away the tears.

"Do you want to sleep on the top bunk, nobody sleeps there?" I say pointing above me.

"Sure, I mean it's better than sleeping on the floor!"

"Wha- why do you sleep on the floor?" I ask.

"I used to sleep above summer, but then she decided to kick me off so her friend could sleep there."

"Well, you can sleep above me anytime you want! Well that doesn't matter anyway we are going to be adopted tomorrow!" I say with excitement.
