Chapter 12

Hazel's P.O.V.

Heat flushes my cheeks as Stephan carries me down the stairs and sets me gently on the couch as if scared I was to break. He scurries away from me and brings me a cup of orange juice in only a few seconds. I smile at him and he kisses me on the forehead. Just as I start to sip the Orange juice, Eliana and Damon are surrounding me. I am starting to think that the running fast thing isn't so great, they always sneak up on me.

"Stephan can I go and play with Bella?" I ask making him smile.

"Of course!" He says holding me in his arms. "But you'll have to wait, your going to meet my fiancé!"

I smile, anybody to have Stephan as a husband is lucky, "what is her name?"

"Lexi" he says her name so calmly the thought of her makes him smile.

I smile and hug him. A knock at the door makes me separate from him. He looks down at me, "that should be her". He starts walking to the door, "You excited?"

I nod skipping to his side anxiously waiting for him to open the door. Finally the door is wide open and I see a tall blonde girl staring at me and Stephan.

She bends down and puts her hand out for me to shake, I put my small hand in hers. "You must be the wonderful Hazel, I'm Lexi!"

I blush as Stephan leans over to Lexi and kisses her on the cheek. A prickle of anger gets inside of me like how it did when I was in the orphanage.

"Well, I am going to go take little Hazel to Bella's." Stephan says making the anger go away and joy go throughout my body.

"Can I come with?" She asks making me feel angrier than before. She is trying to steal my Stephan away, he is supposed to take care of me and love me not her. I am his niece, not her.

I nod faking a smile. At least I will get to play with Bella, that will make me happy.
